The best duo ever. The lyrics are moving with the memories of those greats that have passed on. Bobby Hatfield left us way too soon.

Great reaction and thanks for doing this song! In my opinion, this song is often overshadowed by many of their other (better known?) hits! This tribute song is deserving of it's own merits and attention!

I totally agree!

I enjoyed your reaction. You definitely if you haven't already need to check out more Righteous Brothers music. They sing awesome together or apart. They agreed that on every album they would each have a solo and they would always sing a gospel song. Bobby Hatfield the countertenor has many you might enjoy. Crying in the Chapel Ebb Tide My Prayer I believe Somewhere And if you want your mind blown he cuts loose with his soulful vocals in Summertime. Look for Bobby Hatfield "Summertime" live performance 1965.

This song was sang in 1973 by the Climax band. But it did not hit the charts at all. So in 1974 Righteous Brothers recorded it and it was a hit. It was number 3 on the top 100 charts.

As the years went on, they added other artists who passed away when they performed this. Fittingly, I guess, Bobby's grave marker includes the lyric, 'if you believe in forever, then life is just a one night stand'

I've seen a couple of videos of Bill performing this since Bobby's passing. At the end he sings "If there's a rock and roll heaven, then Bobby's got a hell of a band." RIP, Bobby.

Thanks, Jessica! Not one of their "best" - in my opinion - but very catchy -- and damn - Bobby got the high notes, as always! I really appreciate you checking out this old stuff, b/c you're obviously much younger than I am!
