An episode of The Rimini Riddle, an Irish TV show from the early 1990’s
I do not own the rights to anything in this video, it is a recording from an old VCR tape.
The show popped into my head randomly one night because I remember an old episode my Dad had accidentally recorded it when I was younger. I went searching for information about it online and upon seeing there was barely anything I went looking for the old VCR tape.
Unfortunately these 13 minutes or so is all that I have.

This thing used to be on Sundays on RTE during the winter..it was so grim. It'd give you an eerie uneasy feeling watching it but not understanding why it was so strange. The puppets were terror inducing but the wierd stuff going on during the show would mess with your head. I'm remember being young enough to think 'I'm not afraid of this' but now as an adult it terrifed the bejaysus outta me. Sunday night. Dark winter evening. Grim as. We've come a long way baby!!

Well, you are a creepy old guy who just let himself in with his key in the middle of the night to sing in the kitchen and eat all the sausages soooooooo . . . yes. This show was kind of what I would call a supernatural soap opera for children's television. It did become a supernatural soap opera as the seasons moved on. I was between the ages of 5 and 7 at the time when it was on but felt for my age it ended up moving 'too fast' to understand what was going on,

This is a Series 2 episode, aired on December 4 1993. Episode Synopsis: A gourmet dinner... Luxurious room... A chance to suss out the opposition and not costing a penny - no wonder Aunt Vera is tempted! The opportunity to accompany Dolly Cassidy on an overnight visit to Puffin Manor Guest House is too good to miss - but there is a snag - the children can't be left on their own... Una has a solution - she invites Rory, Ellen and Leo to stay over at her home.

So there are Doctor Who episodes from the 1960s where all copies have been junked but there are at least a few home recorded audios with some pictures as well. It's weird that so little of this exists when it's from the 1990s.

@grandemoonlight5127 my point is that the lost DW episodes are 30 years older than this show and yet all audio's of them still exist. So I would think that a show from the 90s which aired in the era of VHS must have more copies recorded somewhere. That being said, DW is immensely more popular than this show.

I don't think anyone at the time was interested in keeping a cheap kids' show for posterity. It's only years later when the people who watched it grew up and said, "Hey, anyone remember that weird programme with the creepily-human felt puppets?" that anyone even wanted to see it again.

I remember watching some kind of educational nutritional/healthy eating video in 5th Class. I think it was sponsored by Fyffes Bananas. And Rory the puppet from this show was in it. I remember him saying the catch phrase, "Fyffe Times Better Than The Average Banana." Did this show have a bigger cultural footprint at the time? There were also human actors in the show in addition to the puppets. There were strange sequences with real-life actors interacting with the puppets.

In the video game Control, there's a minor background plot about one of the Bureau's employees making a puppet show ("The Threshold Kids") to talk about Bureau Secret Stuff in a simple, child-friendly way. Unfortunately, all the puppets look like this show, but a little worse.
