That's because Marco is a true Master Chef. Highly respected. He knows he is good. He doesn't need a pat on the back. He doesn't need a half dozen shows to drag. He is what a true master chef is all about. Patient, thorough, and expecting his students to learn for themselves on what he teaches them. A proper instructor. Marco would make the older master chefs of Europe proud. Gordon in comparison is a blowhard. A dozen shows to showcase his skills. Not a very good instructor. He expects people to be in awe. Marco says cooking should be a pleasure... Gordon's screaming can't be anything but stressful. There are times in Gordon's shows other chefs in the background turn to stare at his disrespectful conduct towards whoever he is demeaning. Screaming does happen in kitchens. But Gordon is excessive. Making people seem more incompetent than they are is a good way to elevate himself.

Plenty of folks who have worked under him say is not like that in reality. On the other hand, Marco had a reputation of being quite vicious in the kitchen. He's the only person the make Gordon cry for a reason. Overall, I think they would both make great teachers if you care to learn.
