I didn't enjoy Ends--I tried really hard to, but I just didn't get it. It wasn't awful, but not something I'll watch over and over like the other Halloween films. BTW: You kind of resemble Michael McDonald (Little John in Kills)😅 Great video.

HALLOWEEK KILLS is so underrated. It’s actually the perfect ending to the trilogy if you include 1978. Kills Karen and rides off a legend. The mob stuff was a little much but this movie hit the mark.

If David Gordon Green had just left it alone at Halloween 2018, I feel like he'd be remembered as one of the GOATs to touch the franchise. He really dropped the ball hard with the last two movies, especially Ends. 2018 is my favorite Halloween after the original 1978, it did NOT need any sequels.

So, my head cannon is that 78 and 2018 actually happened. Michael dies in the fire and Kills is a fever dream Lorie has in the hospital. Ends doesn't happen because it's stupid pretentious bullshit that ruins the characters of Alyson and Laurie.

I think it will find more over time. But personally, what makes Halloween 3 great is it’s a true anthology movie. Ends isn’t. I also enjoy H3 way more than ends. The score, Tom adkins, etc.

I enjoyed 2018, Kills and Ends. But I enjoyed them as Myers' kill fests, not horror movies. In all honesty, Micheal shouldn't have had any Jason Voorhees moments in Kills. Michael is brutal, but he doesn't wipe out a group of people who are stabbing and beating on him. Kills should have ended by the people leaving him for Dead only for them to turn back and see he vanished like in the Original. Ends should have had the only Jason Voorhees moments and they should been done as desperation acts on Michael's part. I will say the ending of Ends is my favorite, it's what should have been done since the beginning, put your Slasher Villains into industrial shredders when they need to die.

@@CarrieBearCards34 You also forget Jason X when he killed all those Soilders at the beginning of the Movie and the Space Marines he killed in the simulator Section. Calling it Jason Voorheesing is me putting in the difference that Jason and Michael are. Michael hunts his prey meticulously, Jason has no qualms of being a juggernaut, taking the attacks of a group of people, and walking away from it after he killed eveyone. I expect to see that in Friday the 13th NEVER in Halloween.

Halloween 1978 was the holy grail of horror for me for a long time. When I first heard about Danny McBride and DGG wanting to continue this story as fanboys with JLC on board I was intrigued. They made a bold choice to retcon all sequels including H2. So they killed the brother/sister plot device only to replace it with a mad doctor plot (total trash) and then Corey (I can’t even find the words right now) in order to have Laurie and Michael have any reason to cross paths again. They should have left it in and went from there. 2018 had no tension, was not scary at all (to me) and a story that was all over the place with too many characters, too contrived. And for 40 years Laurie prepared for a showdown where she failed miserably. Kills…ugh. Action hero Michael Myers? Takes on crowds at a time? Evil dies tonight?? Pretentiously edited operatic crescendo as if it were horror’s answer to The Dark Knight! Was there even a protagonist? Or did I care so little about these people that I couldn’t see one? The best thing about Ends is that it ended. What a waste of resources, JLC and the opportunity to finally make a worthy sequel. This trilogy was a failure all around. Three strikes! I could go on but I won’t. I’m glad you enjoyed them more than I did.

To think it went to Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends … such a massive letdown. Truly was the final nail in the coffin of modern cinema for me

I also love Halloween part two It was the first one I ever watched on HBO on Halloween night when I was a little kid Very scary I’ve always been mystified how people can love Halloween four or five or whatever, and just overlook the mask People who hate Rob Zombie at least in the first one he got the original mask I think Halloween is a great story if you actually had someone who looked and acted like Michael Myers Anyway, glad I found your channel

Halloween 2018, was good then Halloween kills just went downhill the story the characters just garbage. I didn’t think it could get worse than kills but then we got ends only 20 minutes of Michael Myers then we got a new character. We didn’t even want Corey Cunningham I think if they didn’t kill Cameron off and kills they could’ve done the whole storyline with him, instead of the Corey Cunningham character.

Kills was SOOOOO good. Probably the best of the 3 in the new trilogy and easily top 5 in the whole franchise. I don’t find it dumbed down at all. A lot smarter actually. The exploration of what trauma and fear can do to a community. *chef’s kiss* Plus Michael is just so damn brutal.

I'm not going to watch Halloween ends. I heard and seen the crap they put out. Every time somebody makes a Halloween movie they mess up Michael Myers to make the movie don't make sense you're going to make it make it good make it make sense

2018 is one of my favorite Halloween movies. Second to probably only the original, for the reasons you've stated in the video. I loved kills up until the last like 10 minutes and it was such a bad ending (in my opinion) it really tainted my thoughts on the whole film. I wanted to like ends alot and hoped it would redeem the bad taste of that ending but instead they made it way worse. Which sucks because there is elements of ends that I liked a lot but making Michael Myers be an insane killing machine to this decrepit old man living in a sewer and eating rats. I genuinely don't understand why they took the route they did. I hope one day we get 3 consecutive Michael Myer movies that knock it out of the park. For example loved the first Rob Zombie film probably one of my most rewatched Halloween movies and then the second one happened lol

I really enjoyed H’18…it’s my favorite Halloween movie besides the original. Kills was disappointing and a little over the top, but a decent entry. The flashback scenes really made H Kills. I think the series should have ended there; not everything has to be a trilogy. I felt the filmmakers ran out of ideas after that and that is reflected in Halloween Ends.

With this trilogy, Halloween 2018 was amazing, the atmosphere, music, kills and the look of Michael was perfect. Halloween Kills I love that movie more than 2018 personally. I'm a sucker when it comes to just seeing people slaughtered. Yeah it was stupid and the chant was annoying and cheesy, but that's what I love about it. But when i went to the cinema to see Ends, I was let down heavily. I didn't like it one bit. Yeah the kills were okay, but introducing a new character at the end of the trilogy was a dumb idea. And how they used Michael in this movie was poor. Halloween 2018 and Kills have so much rewatch ability for me, but Ends not so much honestly. Only time I've rewatched Ends was when I was Rewatching the entire franchise and that was about it. I think the trilogy is a solid 8/10 though and James Jude Courtney is definitely my favourite Michael Myers actor

Ugh I missed this video. My bad. From the moment JLC was announced my heart sunk for what the Blumhouse Halloween would be. H'18 was technically proficient but bland and reeked of "been there, done that" smell that I remembered having from The Force Awakens. Halloween Kills just sort of told me they weren't even trying to take this franchise seriously, and Ends felt like it could have been good in a different franchise, or if the trilogy had set it up, anything. The films made money but drove the franchise into a brick wall. Where will it go next? Honestly I don't really care. Let it rest and for the love of God keep DGG away from horror films and JLC away from Halloween.

Honestly 2018 was the only one I thought was good or decent. Kills just felt like nothing was happening, it was such a nothing burger that didn’t have anything new or interesting to add. And Ends felt like a middle finger to me. Aside from H2K18, it felt like a complete bastardization of the franchise. It felt like all of the sequels were only there to rip or insult the previous movies. The way they altered Loomis’s character to be where he wanted to execute Michael while he was being taken into custody, made Michael seem like a total pushover until the climax in Kills and the way he died in Ends was somehow less dignified than when he got his ass whooped by Busta Rhymes in Resurrection. It especially felt like a “fuck you” knowing that this will be the last time we ever see the REAL Laurie Strode face off against Michael Myers.

Man every film in this trilogy sucks. 2018 was lame. Kills was a total mess. Ends is the worst in the series. Halloween to me is Halloween 1,2,4,5,and 6. There’s parts of h20 and Resurrection that I like. I saw Rob zombies in theaters and hated them, but rewatched them years later and didn’t necessarily like them, but I appreciated them more. This reboot trilogy was god awful. When I walked out of 2018, told my friends it was ok, but I prefer Halloween 2. Went with the same friends to see kills. Half us liked it, half of us didn’t. Went again with the same friends AGAIN to see ends, and none of us liked it. I was fine with 2018 until the sequels came out and to me they made 2018 worse. Hated JLC’s over dramatic character in 2018. She was more realistic in H20. What’s funny is that in h20, it’s almost like she under reacts it anything considering Michael is her brother in that storyline. Where on this one, they aren’t related, but the way she reacts and preps for some guy who has no interest in her whatsoever, McBride and green might as well have just made them related. Her reaction would have made sense if this timeline included Halloween 2. Because guns don’t seem to stop Michael in that film, but McBride and green said Michael was a mortal man in 2018, then completely went against that in kills. You see how stupid this trilogy is? It’s so stupid. It’s fine if you like it, and I wish I did because I could have a longer Halloween marathon this October.

I love all 3. For the longest time, RZH2 was my #1 of the frsnchise and Kills managed to take the spot. To this day, Kills was easily my best cinema experience and to me, it met my expectations entirely. I do wonder if my opinion on the movie will change over time, though. Ends was definitely a weird way to end a trilogy but it stood strong on its own and i really liked the Corey character

I like your perspective on the trilogy. And I agree. As a diehard Halloween fan I loved many parts of it, but also thought some decisions won’t age well, like you mentioned. Besides the convoluted story in ends, I think the worst decision was the gay couple in Kills. I think the lgbt+ community could have benefited from a much more interesting couple, if that was the choice. They bought the Myers house and flipped it (somewhat of a stereotype where gay couples flip houses). But their personalities weren’t very memorable, and definitely not unique. Absolutely not the most important part of Kills, but as a bisexual man who loves the franchise, I would have appreciated much better representation.

2018, for the most part, is amazing! There’s so much from beginning to end that I absolutely love! But, there is a glaring problem I have with it, and many people might not care: Lori using the “Cowboy” lever action rife…drives. me. NUTS. I don’t ever like to inject politics, but I know Jamie Lee Curtis is SUPER anti-gun, so I can tell, or suspect, that her not using a more modern rifle was a demand of hers. And each scene I see her using the lever action, it completely takes me out of the moment, and think about how stupid and ridiculous it looks, and how dumb of a choice it is. Maybe that’s just me? Kills is definitely fun, and has some amazing vibes and kills, but isn’t a home run of a movie. Ends, though…I’ve never been so mad at a movie haha. I will never watch it again-it was SO disjointed from 2018 and Kills, and it seemed like they forgot that Michael should actually be on screen doing his Michael thing! And, one of the gnarliest kills ever in the entire franchise (radio station DJ and the ✂️), didn’t even come from Michael, but by some wannabe kid. lol, I have strong feelings about this movie! As always, love your breakdowns!
