It’s funny how much more compelling a lot of the Sith that valued the empire over personal gain are than a lot of Sith that do the opposite. Like Darth Marr and Lana Beniko are some of the old republic’s standout characters, entirely because there’s more to them than being selfish jerks

Geetsly’s didn’t mention this, but Vitiate was actually born in the Marka Ragnos era on the planet Medriaas (which he later renamed to Nathema). Ragnos actually gave him the name Vitiate. He also randomly discovered the Eternal Fleet and had been building up that empire at the same time he was building the True Sith Empire.

And not to also mention that the original Valkorian was previously one of ancient Zakuul's greatest warriors before he was taken over by Vitiate, who then assumed Valkorian's identity to unite the people of Zakuul to form the Eternal Empire.

"Thexan was killed and he never quite forgave his father..." Bruh, understating a bit much? Arcan hit a breaking point after Valkorian dismissed them after a long and bitter campaign. One where Arcan lost his arm and had half his face disfigured. Arcan struck out at Valkorian, and Thexan used the force to pull his brother back slightly, and in a dark side fueled rage, he killed Thexan. He hates Valkorian for pushing him that far, and himself for being mentally weak enough to snap like that.

Yes and He hates himself because He knows He is just his fathers puppet and that He cannot resist his influence even if He tries to fight against it. Thats why He was redeemed because He saw that He could only defeat his father and break valkorions hold over him if He allows his mother to help him resist darkness. Only after being redeemed is He truely free to fight valkorion, as a dark sidee He was just controlled by valkorions Manipulation and He was split between light and dark similar to revan, who also thought He was fighting against the emperor but was a puppet as well.

dont forget that his original body didnt die 2:20 - he kept it hidden and used others as vessels for his mind, a failsafe if u will - if a body would prove to have too strong a mind to possess, he wouldnt be forced into the Void since he had a place to return to - his original body. quite unlike Palpatine who millenia later, after his original body grew old and was eventually killed at Endor, was forced to use fast grown clones of himself as blank slates to easily imprint his mind on - but ofc clones are no match to normal body so his power ravaged them, making them wither and grow old extra fast, forcing Palpatine to keep changing clone bodies while Vitiate could use his vessels for centuries on end.

Not so fast. Because there isn't a rule of two, the lost tribe can't really by discounted n they had rulers throughout that periode. So while we don't know them by name it's at least more likely than not that some dark lords existed constantly. I also am wondering if kotor and swotor even are to b concidered part of the eu's "a cannon", as far the games go. They provided certainly much source material for successive books n comics but also have some massive elements that r hardly to not at all compatable with the base structure n circumstances that are unavoidable facts within the rules, that are in play in the sw universe in the main - as well the eu's a cannon. 4 example it should b impossible that darth marr could live on as a force ghost, at least as far as we know he never turned to the light. So not only does the main cannon rule it out with qui go having been the first who learned that technique, but also it is colliding with the sith's and dark side practicioners in general - inability to learn it. Another huge one is the fact that ziost in the eu is far from being a dead ball of rock. Even if the time till 41 aby would've been enough to regenerate, there would still b some remaining life necessary from which such regroth can happen, but viciad drained the planet completely according to the story of the games. Malacor5 also is such a weird thing. If we believe the game's visually telling of the planet's end, it was just exactly that. We were shown how it was totally destroyed and broke into bits. So even within the game therer r locations for it to take place, which were shown to b destroyed in the same game. Luckily kotor2 never was a fully develloped story n has not really much influence on eu's a cannon anyway, but kotor n swotor were source for much printmaterial that was way more included into eu's a cannon works. Oh, nearly forgotten about one... Massassi, were actually described to be green in the books, but they were made red in comics so i won't blame the game for that. Not sure which meium was first, if the comic, than that could b an error in the book ( n would also make sense given their biologic heiritage of purebloods), but i doubt it. It also could just be a later redirection. The green describtion described the also only as ancient species who build the temples. It was said that they were enslaved by the sith who came there, like if they were native to yavin 4. All the ancient sith lore that was in the connected comics, was only minimally part in the book. I think even the part of how n who of the sith got to yavin 4, actually was created later than the fact that exar kun haunted the ruins n was the one who enslaved the Massassi to build his temple. I think that neither nagar sadow nor magnar ragnos' envolvement in exar kuhns fall, nor sadow's getaway to yavin, including the massassi fighters he brought, were part of the novels, or if so - only durintg later parts.

I think the Hero of Tython/Outlander-Lightside is canonical. Given how the plot unfolds, it makes more sense. There are subtle hints if you pay attention. For example, Lana Beniko is very open to joining the Republic in the sake of peace/stability, while Theron Shan doesn't feel the same way at all about joining the Empire. The Sith's constant flux of leaders and paradigm shifts also greatly weakens their ability to maintain a stable front against the Republic. Darth Jadus breaks off to form his own splinter faction. Then Malgus with the stealth armada. Then Vitiate has to be put down and Imperial Intelligence was disbanded, and because their successor (Sith Intelligence) was based on Ziost.... You can imagine what happened to them when Vitiate destroyed the planet. I could keep going but you get the idea. While the Jedi and the Republic face their share of setbacks, the Empire and Sith suffer from major losses and destructive infighting that simply can't realistically last. Which is why the Sith are the ones who basically vanish from the timeline following this era up until Darth Ruin, over 1000 years later

As an ideology, Sithness (Sithism?) Is sterile. Its war of each against all precludes stability. Which why the Brotherhood of Darkness and Palpatine eschewed its core principle; obviously in radically different ways. The BoD went for egalitarianism. Plagueis & Sidious went with autocracy. Vitiate is as bad as Sidious when it comes to refusing to die and having several re-spawns as it were as well as backup plans and empires to ensure that he reigns for ever. Though of course it was his abandonment of the sith empire. invasions of the eternal empire and his attempts to live forever, that eventually doomed and put the Sith empire on its road to diasaster and destruction.

I really wasn't a fan of this game. I wish we got KOTOR 3 instead. This game took what KOTOR 2 set up and just boiled it down to yet another era with an evil Empire that functioned almost exactly like the one seen in the OT. I was hoping to see something more akin to what was presented in the Tales of the Jedi comics, but with a more established presence and better technology. They just look too much like the typical Empire for a game set long before the movies. KOTOR 1 did the same, but at least they were presented to be a more competent threat, and the technology was stylized better to look different from the more modern eras. This game just felt like it was made to appeal to OT fans while disregarding the interesting universe that was built up through TOTJ, KOTOR, and KOTOR 2. I also just didn't like it being a subscription based MMO.
