I actually saw a theory that the reason OV Vilgax is less threatening is because when Ben recreated the entire Universe there where the unintentional changes. Just like his childhood self, always seeing Gwen more nerdy than she really was led to her redesign. Ben defeating Vilgax multiple times led him to see him less threatening because he was less scared of him. Making his subconscious recreate him the way we see him now.

Man imagine though... If Ben 10 ever does get a sequel again A second Vilgax appears out of nowhere to confront the Vilgax we've had since UAF and the second Vilgax reveals he _is_ the real Vilgax, the one Ben threw into space with Way Big when he was 10, and the one from UAF really was his son who claimed his name, and the real Vilgax has been plotting for so many years, biding his time and preparing his armies and looking for more enhancements, which results in the real Vilgax resembling his Ben 10000 design. He then brutally beats down his son for tarnishing his name and being incompetent (whether or not the son survives is up in the air) and decides to conquer Vilgaxia again, and we see the difference between father and son The son, using his father's name, was still kind and caring to his people, but Vilgax, the real one, was still the ruthless warlord we've known him as and he conquers Vilgaxia in a day with his new and improved drone army. Now he uses the fusion drone models (the one that fused with Rojo) and has them all fuse with a ton of his fellow Chimera Sui Generis, making them mindless slaves bent to his will as his army has now quadrupled in size, ready to finally invade Earth again to get his revenge on a now young adult Ben Tennyson

I found it fitting though. Before they run to each other, Vilgax asks: "What will it now be? Swampfire, Big Chill (he says some alien names i can't remmber exactly), some of your new ultimate aliens? Your going to try talking me into submission (or something along those lines)?". So when Ben just stabs him, i feel his surprise both because he didn't expect Ben (who until now was fighting him using many different aliens, combining powers, doing muliple things) to just stab him with a sword and because i think Vilgax didn't think that Ben would do it. He sees him as more moral, that's the vibe he gives me. If Vilgax wasn't fuse with Dagon, Ascalon would probably kill him. Ben has never showed in the past any indication he would kill Vilgax if the situation escalated there. The very first time he let him in his blowing ship (not directly making any attempts to kill him). Two times he threw him into space, one he left in the bottom of the ocean (with Ben knowing he wasn't dead) and one time he beated him into submission, but even having him crushed unter diamonds, easily killable, Ben just asked for his surrender. Making an obvious fatal move like that, attack for the kill (it is unclear if Ben knew he wouldn't kill him with the sword) was something Vilgax hadn't previously seen from Ben. And his following lines seem to be of admire to Ben for that move. He immediately tried to manipulate him into crossing the line seeing that Ben had changed. Now, it's kind of a sloppy scene and very very brief for its importance but i don't think it's a very bad one. With Ben allpowerful like this, a longer fight wouldn't have too much significance i believe.

Classic Vilgax was a straight up Menace! He was The most dangerous villain Cartoon Network showed! But then as time went on he started becoming a joke still pretty menacing but somewhat a joke especially in Omniverse but Malgax was pretty awesome and fought well and then there's the reboot that honestly did Vilgax some justice! Made him badass again! 😅

I like to think that During the way big fight in secret of the omnitrix He got a concussion And that lead to AF vilgax And he got his memory back during the whole Dagon stuff And the reason why he became a joke at times in OV Is because he started to pass his prime thx to his age in his species Reason why he’s cool when he’s teaming up with other villains

I’ve never understood why people complain about the “You stabbed me” line. If you look at it from Vilgax’s point of view, would you expect Ben to just stab you? Just a couple minutes earlier, he asked him if he was gonna use his old bag of tricks because that’s the Ben he’s come to know and expect so him stabbing him was shocking. The only thing I can criticize about the scene is that way he says it. If he sounded more shocked instead of annoyed then maybe that scene wouldn’t have as many haters as it does.

For me it's a mixture of how the fight was rather anticlimactic and that line was apparently the best they could come up with. It's a little bit like the 'Somehow Palpatine has returned' line; yes it's functional, but couldn't they have come up with something a bit better?

I headcannon that in classic he wanted to come of as intimidating to give him an extra edge over Ben in a fight. Though as Ben beat him more and more the facade needed less of a reason to exist, it won't benefit him anymore so he becomes a bit more boisterous in his demeanour. Plus figting Ben for so long, some of Bens personality may have rubbed off on him a little

UAF Vilgax is still my favorite. Although, I’ll give Omniverse Vilgax this: he literally did one of the most morally atrocious acts any character could ever do-destroying almost the entire multiverse and murdering countless innocent people and those who are generally undeserving of slaughter. However, he didn’t spare his planet or even _his universe._

Omniverse portrayal of Vilgax being weaker would suit the Vilgax that appears in the Time War arc since that Vilgax was a much younger version of him before he became the original series type of Vilgax.

I honestly feel like Vilgax doesn't desvere to be Ben's top villain, I just feels like it's the case he is the originial main threat. Besides the fact his character and powers are inconsistent across the franchise what makes him not work for me is because his character doesn't present in my opinion a good foil to Ben. Vilgax works as a force of nature who just craves power in the originial series because it's a good contrast to a child wanting to be a hero. Without that dynamic vilgax feels like standard villain. I will admit the reboot of Vilgax works way more better then me.

Might be why I never really minded the change when I was originally watching OS and UAF. I like Vilgax but I was never really that attached to him because even in the OS, I didn't feel like he was the top villain after S1. He felt like a big deal then (which is good) but the next 2 times he shows up in OS weren't that big of a deal in my mind (they were cool of course, just not as huge as the first time). I think being just a super threatening villian like he was at first would basically not work for the rest of the series. There is only so many times you can make one guy that is consistently beaten threatening

I try to not to think about the bad things about Vilgax and think more of the good things. Sure he was upset he got stabbed, Ma Vreedle got him to cry and leave, he didn’t understand chillax, and he got a cold. But he did do a lot of damage, betrayal and death and even convinced Kevin to build the Antitrix. Ups and downs or no ups and downs Vilgax is one of Cartoon Networks best villains!

Alien Force Vilgax felt like a natural progression for his character. He wasn’t nearly as terrifying as the Classic Series Vilgax, but it made sense. In the Classic Series, the first time Ben defeated Vilgax (with Max and Gwen’s help) was honestly a fluke-completely luck-dependent. A few seconds of delay anywhere, and Vilgax would’ve won. Even when Ben and Gwen beat him again during his return with Kevin, that victory also had an element of luck. Vilgax, an experienced galactic conqueror, made the mistake of teaming up with Kevin-a kid with serious anger management issues. If Vilgax had gone solo, even against Ben with the Master Control, I think he could’ve won. His downfall there was relying on a volatile, untrustworthy partner. However, in Secrets of the Omnitrix, we see Ben truly defeat Vilgax for the first time. Using Way Big to throw him into space was all Ben’s decision, even if Azmuth unlocking the To'kustar transformation helped make it possible. Azmuth may have given Ben the tool, but Ben made the call, proving that he could stand up to Vilgax on his own. After the events of Secrets of the Omnitrix, Vilgax wasn’t just defeated-his reputation was shattered. The galaxy didn’t just learn that the Omnitrix was real; they learned it was in the hands of a child, and that child had defeated the Vilgax. His name, once synonymous with terror and dominance, no longer inspired the same fear. This likely explains why Vilgax in Alien Force leaned so heavily on titles like 'Conqueror of Ten Worlds.' In the Classic Series, he didn’t need to say a title-his name alone carried all the weight and fear he needed. But now, with his aura of invincibility gone, he had to reassert his power and rebuild both his army, lost during the events of Secrets of the Omnitrix, and the fear his name once commanded.

My thoughts: 2005 - Absolutely unstoppable until the S.O.T.O movie where he doesn’t ever fight Ben, which to me makes his defeat by WayBig not as impactful. U.A.F - Cool concept, don’t mind the voice, he’s very threatning in his first two parter, but his personality makes him a little calmer and more caculated as he gets info from GhostFreak which led to Primus, and tricking Albedo into getting the Omnitrix for him. He does feel powerful and is a capable fighter, like when he went against GhostFreak, trio with Tetrax. But he doesn’t do anything when he “teamed up” with Albedo, he has him beat and kidnapped Gwen and Kevin, and uses them for ransome for the Omnitrix. He fought Ultimate Swampfire which was cool but it was Swamps moment and his Ultimate form was just introduced so he’s gotta look cool. His “true form” came out of nowhere. no one on his planet shows off this form, and it’s implied that his “true form” is stronger than his normal form. Also I feel like he isn’t a cyborg anymore, his appearance in Tetrax’s flashback (besides being literally a different desgin from his Pre-Cyborg self in 2005 series) is similar to his warlord self. He feels generic too, having a sword, sheild, blaster he never used, and hiis design just overall feels less alien for some resson. U.A.F has this problem by making their designs less “alien”, unique prortions like not desinging the alien forms to go to their knees like the 2005 series, weirdly shaped legs like how HeatBlasts were slightly chicken shaped by being bent a little if you looked closer, but Swamps isn’t and he’s a plant alien. Overall Vilgax, and the main Ben ‘s U.A.F aliens have a humanoid shape to them which adds to the generic feels. Plus the more vibrant colors add to that too. His Dagon thing was a neato idea, until he pretended to be hardcore Dagon fan in which he preaches about Dagon more than Edwin. It wasn’t a bad idea, I think it’d be cool to contrast that with his earlier appearance, but he looked pathetic as he kept begging more power and wasn’t displaying unique powers besides turning everyone on Earth into Esoterica, and not being affected by HearBlast’s fire but that’s it. He lift a building in Dagon’s dimension which was cool. He should’ve went up against Ben’s Ultimate forms to give him more credability to his powers, like an Ultimate HeatBlast, Fourarms, DiamondHead, Cannonbolt, Humungasour, SwampFire, Chromostone, NRG, Armadrillo, FastTrack, ect ect. Instead, he went up against regular versions of the aliens which was lame. His Dagon portrayl felt lame as he left when Dagon showed up, came back with a machine, absorbed his power, became the Dagon, chased Ben, destroyed Mount Rushmore, got stabbed by Ben, and said “YoU StaBbED mE!” And that’s it honestly. Cool design for Vilgax when he was infused with Lacubra energy, but lame DagonGax design, well the head form at least. MalGax has a better design. So yee Omniverse - Stinky, he doesn’t feel like a physical threat, he’s a joke, and relies and everything else to help him, even his Pre-Cybernetic self felt like a threat in that Gwen 10 episode in the 2005 series.

Vilgax becoming more of a warrior and less like a tyrant in AF (except for the finale) was kinda weird and the design in OV tries to pay homage to that villain in OS but the execution could’ve been better. I do like the OV design more than UAF but OVs lighter tone and Ben maturing and being stronger than he previously was, kinda weakened the character in some appearances. And Then There Were None/Ben, Malgax Attacks were probably the best versions of Vilgax we got in OV (the ones I can name at the top of my head).

Vilgax was by far cartoon networks most evil villain. blew up petropia for the funzees, killed crystal jesus, conquered 10 worlds, killed 10 of the strongest heroes, the timebomb feat killed everyone an infinite times over, His body count is quite literally incalculable. I just wish they treated him more seriously. Or just retcon UAF vilgax into being Vilgaxes lame son...but...As for OV I really dont know. Maybe have him be Songax aswell? While the real vilgax was still floating in the voids of space

Bro vilgax was fighting a child and the aliens were the equivalent of that child. Ben is grown up the aliens got stronger hell before cannonbolt was already enough to give Vilgax serious damage but now cannonbolt probably kills vilgax with one roll from ben 10 prime. It's not that Vilgax became weak it's just that Ben is out of his league and he probably became more salty about that imagine you beef with the same guy all the time and he started to see you as a joke. Ben literally doesn't take Vilgax as serious of a enemy anymore, he doesn't even see Vilgax as a threat more a villain of the week. Atomix, clockwork, way big, cannonbolt, and plenty of aliens can defeat Vilgax now my poor guy needs a upgrade like his version in ben 10k classic but just better upgrade because even that I don't think is enough for our ben 10 prime.

And in classic itself vilgax was already destroyed by way big showing that ben was out of Vilgax league i nclassic itself. And diamond head was the one alien that ben had the most experience we can see him training with it in classic itself not only that like I said the aliens are relative to his age. Ben had +5 years of age so diamond head got exponentially strong. Just like 4 arms in ultiamte alien force is stronger than classic ben 10 and how in classic itself heatblast and even diamonhead are show to be stronger than his classic counterparts.

@@Andrew-Bastin It's never stated in OG but he never killed anyone in entirety of OG except for a bug & a fungus. In AF it's shown several times he never goes for the kill. He showed remorse when Vilgax fell into the pit in the Primus episode, went his way to save I think it was 77 in the start of AF finale and even stopped Kevin from killing Aggregor. And even when he out to kill Kevin Max was surpirsed saying it wasn’t the Ben way. Ben never shown to be willing to kill any sentient being before the Ultimate Kevin arc.

@ Ok I did forget about Ghostfreak so my bad. With Zombozo he didn't really know he would explode of fear and SAM is just a robot. Except your missing the point that he has shown issue multiple times. Rewatch the Primus episode where, after Vilgax fell he was on his knees and Gwen said that it wasn't on purpose. If you don't find it contradictory then why didn't he just let Kevin kill Aggregor or Morgg? He brings up his issue with again in Basic Training.
