This video is impressively misinformed & feels like it came out a year ago when there was less information available. You bring up the claim the VFX artist weren’t paid enough/mistreated then later bring up the video where they literally said that was not the case. Did you just ignore that part? You also bring up the rumors the storyboard artist “weren’t even paid” & that Gavin was dissing Jon Watts after he messaged him, but then also mention his apology video where both of those things were proven false. So did you just not watch it? You even got wrong what the kid who leaked the messages was upset about, insinuating they were upset Gavin didn’t involve them in Lotus when that’s not something Gavin or that kid has ever said. Their falling out was before the script for Lotus had even been written so I genuinely have no idea where you got that one…

The only thing you really got right on the controversy side was that messages did leak, but conveniently failed to mention how all of them were either old or straight up photoshopped. I just don’t get how someone can do almost 0 research of their own when making claims about real people’s actions/character, but instead choose to follow an inaccurate & clearly bias Twitter thread that blatantly ignores information. I understand where you’re coming from. They can, at times, seem very try-hard , are outright amateur and difficult to watch. They tend to take themselves way too seriously when the most entertaining ones are the zany and comedic fan films. Usually, the best ones are shorter in runtime and often do not include dialogue. If I had to recommend any, it’s 1997’s TROOPS and OtaKing Animation’s TIE Fighter. Both are Star Wars and tonally opposite from one another but they’re insanely good. Cheers!

I'm gonna be real here, I never was excited for this "fan" film of Spider-Man Lotus when it was first announced and even when the trailers of it were dropped. I may be a huge spider man fan, but when watching the 2 trailers, I will say that I like the suit and the main score/theme of lotus, but I just couldn't get invested that much, I thought that music choices were so weird and a bit cringe when I listen to it and I wasn't really a fan of Spider-Man lotus being too dramatic or depressing of a Peter Parker/Spider-Man story, not really my cup of tea. So I just pass it, it just wasn't good for me to watch the film in my opinion.
