We went to Jordan's capital city of Amman where Palestinian refugee and Brazilian jiu-jitsu master Samy Al-Jamal teaches Jordanians and Muslim seekers from around the world the secrets of mixed martial arts. Then we met Rana Qubbaj, the first female Arab woman to win an International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation tournament. With a smile perpetually on her face, Qubbaj works to overcome both her opponents and any number of familial, social, and cultural issues raised by a woman doing combat sports in the Middle East.

I'm surprised. You guys missed a golden opportunity while in Jordan. Zaid Mirza, founder of Desert Force MMA and a litany of great Jordanian MMA schools, is also Jordanian born and raised in Brazil. That is where I knew him. He is married to the Kings sister, Princess Iman bin Hussein, introduced MMA to the Jordanian police and military, and is part of Jordan's peace negotiations with neighboring countries. Interesting guy who also happens to be a badass. Look him up Fightland.

Jordan is more open and free than Australia. There are prostitution houses strip joints and every corner has a liquor store and you can drink while you drive, full of drugs, and you can practice any relegion you want, and now there is a lot of gays and gay district. Drugs in school... etc . Just to say you can raise your kids anywhere in the world , and what they learn in life is from their parents.
