"Gossip Gangster" Perez Hilton is notoriously known for exposing celebrities, doodling on their pictures, and giving them offensive nicknames. The celebrity blogger made a name for himself with his website back in 2004. Over the course of his career he's made enemies and wound up in several controversies. In this two part series we will take a deep look into the life and career, of the biggest "bully" in Hollywood; Perez Hilton.

Oh wow, thank you Perez for watching and commenting. I’m glad you enjoyed part I. Just as a heads up, part II does show more of your “controversial” side that I’m sure isn’t fun to rehash but it is done with respect, balance, and will include the point in which you pivoted your content. Again, thanks for watching and supporting. I enjoyed covering your story. I learned so much. Have a great day ❤

Gossip in Latin communities is one of the most unbearable things for those of us born into it. This obsession with treating other people’s lives as entertainment and not respecting at all privacy is a form of verbal abuse that is culturally accepted. This guy is a clear example of how bad it is and how much harm it does. I’ve had “friends”, family members, coworkers, classmates that behave like this… the damage they’ve caused is just like a force of nature…

Perez used to body shame and destroy female celebrities back in 2005 - 2006 and so on. He was a hateful and nasty man that destroyed women. It’s tragic that he had a very traumatic childhood. That doesn’t excuse what he did and said whilst running a gossip website. I do hope he has grown. But he made so many girls and women into jokes so he could gain clout.

I relate to Perez as a latin person with a toxic and narcissistic mother. My mother also had her first at 18, and me at 34, but she was like a child when she raised me. She told me at a young age about her sexual life, her problems, and I felt like I couldn’t express myself and be a child. She would callously point out my flaws and once did it in a restaurant full of people, in front of her boyfriend at the time and his son who was like a big brother to me. It was humiliating and she was aggressive when she wanted to be. Now she relies on me financially and is annoying as hell in the way she just keeps repeating the same shit from the past and doesn’t seem to care about me and my problems like back then. So I get Perez and his struggles- but unlike him, I didn’t turn this into bullying or abusing others. I decided to not have children and focus on myself.

As a Latina i can verify the gossipy culture. Hilton is wrong about the negative aspects of gossip. It treats family apart. My Tias gossiped so much my father wouldn't let them use the phone when at my house. (This is in the time before cell phones.) I also have seen the destruction in my own family. So we try really hard to separate factual news from gossip.

I actually have a lot in common with him: his Mom reminds me of my own: a "cold", "distant" immigrant. My Mom was actually a bit more harsh, but I eventually got to know her as a person, and figured out she had CPTSD from an incredibly violent war torn childhood. She was not the sweet hugging supportive American Mommy I (only) saw on television. 80's & 90's kids were pretty awful: they'd bully anyone who wasn't "normal". All of those things made me develop an aversion towards gossip and bullying, so I was never a fan of his. He brought celebrity gossip to a whole new level. People ate it up too. Do I sympathize? I'll give him the same sympathy he gave others. I'll skip the cruelty, though.

His mom was a narcissist. The way she responded to his gift! I understand just how terrible he felt, because of my own mother. My heart breaks for him as a child. But I didn't become a bully, and neither did other kids like us. He had a choice, as an adult, to become the best person he could be. But he chose to bully and demean everyone he could. That is totally on him.🕊

When he said all that disturbing stuff about Britney Spears however, that's when we stopped paying attention to Perez. Which was around the same time that Wendy outted Method Mans wife for having cancer so we stopped tuning into both. This man's hatred towards women clearly stems from his mother, i kinda figured that growing up but seeing this video confirmed it. He is was first to call someone fat and disgusting when he was one himself. The kids he went after was just so disheartening for me. So glad you did this video. It’s about time people held him accountable.

I’ve been waiting for you to drop a new video. I loveee your content!!… so I got to meet him some years back and his tv personality was NOTHINGGG like his real life personality. Perez was actually polite and friendly and had I not been good at recognizing faces especially in the setting that we were in, I would’ve overlooked him as just another regular person because that’s how blended in he was with us regular people. We even sat down and had a convo and I asked him “would you still do reality gossip news??” And his response was “ well no, I’m actually going in a more positive direction and looking to explore other avenues and ideas I’ve been sitting on for awhile.” And he said this so calmly and respectfully. We talked a little more which I can’t exactly remember the convo but I definitely do remember that specific part of our conversation.

LOVE your videos, you do an incredible job with research and the overall flow of your storytelling. I was around for the heyday of Perez Hilton and would hate read it, even though I was firmly a D-Listed fan. Perez was an absolutely disgusting bully. Leave it to BTC to humanize Perez Hilton. I was there as a spectator for his rise and have also seen how mean and horrible he has been to those he covered. It seems in the 90’s-early 2000’s it was sport to be mean to celebrities, like Wendy Williams and Joan Rivers did. Now that I’ve watched Be’s content I see the this is behavior is the result of a lot of childhood trauma. Doesn’t make it right but it explains it. Looking forward to part II.

Perez had one thing going for him that really allowed him to not only win the gossip wars, but also destroy various celebs without consequence. His alliance with Paris Hilton. You neglected to mention that how Perez actually got his name, which is important to this. In NYC Paris was slated to host a party at a club Mario was at and she no showed. Drunk off his ass, Mario stormed the stage and yelled "FORGET PARIS HILTON, PEREZ HILTON'S IN THE HOUSE!" Crowd cheered, and he kept the name moving forward. Paris had him by the balls legally and basically used him to destroy various celebrities that she hated. Most notably Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and of course Lindsay Lohan. He also actively covered up Paris's very vocal hatred for gays while accusing said starlets of the same. This alliance more or less made him but his future alliances with Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift created similar situations where he actively destroyed people that those 2 hated as well. (Xtina became "FLOPtina" to appease Gaga and Swifty got Perez to destroy every guy she banged and slut shame their later girlfriends.) Now one would think Perez would despise himself for that, but he went after so many stars on his own with glee that I don't think he ever had a problem with doing it for others so long as they kept inviting him to lavish drug fuelled parties.
@betheecommentator
@betheecommentator 8 ай бұрын
Did I not mention that? It’s been awhile and I can’t remember if I discussed that or not but yes you’re right, his connection to Paris Hilton was a huge asset. And yes I discuss how Perez sabotaged celebrities in part II. I don’t go too much into the specifics because that would be to use for another deep dive related specifically to the artist. So I wanted to save that information for future episodes. But you’re absolutely right.

This is a great deep dive about Perez Hilton’s childhood so we can understand why he did what he did to Hollywood celebrities. He was deeply bullied, hurt,humiliated, and affected his self-concept. Plus, having to go through an abusive, narcissistic mother, who can’t afford to emotionally connect with him or empathize with what he’s going through. It reminds me of my mother and other unconscious adults around me. Healthy attachment is necessary for us to also connect with our future partners and form bonds. Having to endure my own suffering was really a torture. When a child is suffering from chronic stress, trauma, it affects the brain development. Some experts would say it’s brain injury. There’s arrested development at some point. If unresolved, unprocessed, and prevented it can have long-term effect towards adulthood. Trauma can be stored in the mind and body. It will manifest in autoimmune disorders, mental illness, depression, and more. Children who were bullied can become bully and the worst bully for themselves, Subconsciously. 95% of our daily habits is due to our childhood conditioning from 0-7 years old. Mental health professionals are now talking about this. I am fascinated with human behaviour and have empathy for everyone who had to go through our individual painful experiences. I feel for everyone who went through their own difficult experiences. It wasn’t our fault. However, as adults it’s our responsibility to heal ourselves. ❤ The good news is… We can now talk about our difficult emotions because it’s okay. Get help from professionals. Release all the suppressed emotions. His mom and the rest of their generation were not emotionally mature enough to understand the deep psychological effects nor understand that children needs emotional support and validation. I can talk about this topic for hour’s because it’s fascinating. Ahhh! Human condition is amazing. We’re all connected despite our differences. Because. We have more similarities more than anything. Great job. Keep it up!!❤😮🙏🏼 🧿
