My original video on the 'Big Russian Lie' was simply not big enough. Ukraine is a fascinating nation with an ancient history and it deserves to be learnt.
Part II coming as soon as I finish writing it.

I can only imagine how hard it must be for you and every other Ukrainian to fight for your right to exist as an independent country. I may not be able to help you directly(not really rolling in money) but I can at least give my words of respect. Please keep fighting for what is right. It's a shame our politicians haven't done more to support Ukraine. We don't even have to send any troops (aside from those who voluntarily join the international legions), and we didn't even have to spend that much money! @@dx-ek4vrHell, a *majority* of the stuff we are sending Ukraine is stuff we were going to have to *pay* to demilitarize and dispose of (IAW our rather strict environmental and safety laws) in a couple of years *anyway* . Heck, when you look at ammunition, US military "safe storage and use" requirements are so strict we tend to pay to destroy ordnance *long* before it reaches what almost every other nation considers still well within the "Best If Used By" dates they use. (You can, in large part, thank the USS Forrestal fire and the USS Iowa turret explosion for this rather conservative approach to ordnance safety - we assume everything is stored in the worst possible conditions, whilst simultaneously trying to ensure everything is stored in the absolute best environmental conditions as much as possible.)

As a Ukrainian, thank you for your work, such deep insight is very rare. I want to draw your attention to a little-known fact in the English-speaking world. The use of the term "Slavs" has developed historically, but it is not the term mainly used by the Slavic peoples. In fact, it is used only in four languages - Russian, Bulgarian, Belarusian and Croatian. In others (Ukrainian, Bosnian, Macedonian, Polish, Serbian, Czech, Slovenian and Slovak), the term "Slovs" is used (if phonetically to represent the analogue), the words to check are Slovakia and Slovenia. This term is based on the word "Slovo", which literally means "word". So, "Wordians", if you wish ;). Not slaves, but those who speak an intelligible language. I hope that this will somehow help in the study of the political use of the language question.

I can relate to that weird niche-finding. After growing out of being a tankie, I became obsessed with learning the truth about Kalashnikov rifles and how shitty they actually are and cutting through the propaganda. I bought one myself to study and get hands-on experience despite hating it. That lead to me studying the theory of Quality on the larger scale, and now I work at a manufacturer as a quality analyst and CMM programmer. I just love when things like that happen for people.

TIL there's a big difference between history of Ukraine and my country's (Korean) counterpart. On one hand, there is a group of people known for horse archers in the antiquity, who then spent the first millenium A.D. haggling with the carousel of nomadic people coming from the Eurasian Stepps, which culminated in a significant life-changing encounter with the Mongol Empire. In contrast, there is Ukranian history. *....wait.*

Whenever I enter a discussion forum on our news portalls, it looks like the people are split 50/50 on wether the west is in the wrong or wehter Russia is in the wrong. It is insane. I can not comprehend that after 2 years of Russias special needs millitary operation, there is a majority of people who would choose to appease Russia, and mock you for being against it. I don’t like this timeline.

It’s because many Americans took the criticisms lobbed at America post-Iraq invasion to heart. They became disillusioned, and many now believed that everything American government does, it does with evil intentions. That’s why so many don’t trust Biden with Ukraine as many believe that he is lying and only supporting Ukraine for corrupt purposes.

I think the situation in America is more complex than that. In a way, the left kind of screwed the cause over by treating it as their own causes and demonizing "the right" for being pro-Russian, even though most of the right isn't. This had the affect of many ordinary Americans associating support for Ukraine as an inherently "progressive" or Democratic Party cause.

Church-Slovanic language (and its alphabet) is an artificial language created by missionary monks Cyril and Methodius to spread Eastern Christianity in Moravia and Bulgaria. After baptism, Church-Slovanic became an 'eastern Latin' for Orthodox Slavs. It was the language of state and church. As for domestic usage, it is unknown which language or languages were spoken among ~12 Rus-occupied tribes, since they had no writing. But it’s very very unlikely that it was “one people '' and “one language” as some KGB agents say.

lets face it, Genghis Kahn was one of, if not the most pivotal person in European history full stop, certainly when you consider Central and Eastern Europe, but arguably including Western and North Western Europe as well, even if more indirectly. That of course is before you look at China and the Indian Sub continent (though the latter was after his death if I remember right).

Another thought, decided not to start a new thread with this, is considering this notion of 'racial purity.' To elucidate why I think this is a myth, I'll use the British Isles, as I am a Welshman! To put it bluntly us British, including the Irish as I am using British in this case as a Geographical rather than socio-political term, are mongrels. All of us. The majority of our DNA, between 60 - 70% is Beaker Peoples, who were pre Celtic. The term Celtic is in itself as amorphous as the term Slav, in that its more a group of peoples and cultures that more or less shared certain cultural and linguistic similarities. You only have to look at the British Isles to realise that. Of the 6 Celtic Languages that are still spoken today, five are spoken on the British Isles and all are 'native' to those Isles. But they fall in two groups, P and Q Celtic, and though related, they are very much different language groups. As a Welshman who speaks Welsh (though not fluently), I would not be able to understand Irish or Scots Gaelic, but I WOULD be able to understand a decent amount of Cornish or Breton. Then you have other influxes, the Angles and the Jutes, the Normans, the Romans, the Norse, all of whom have left imprints on our DNA, languages and culture. There are others, these are just the major ones. Us Brits are hardly unique, all populations of humans on Earth in the modern day are to a greater or lesser extent the result of a melting pot of blood, culture and language that is the result of thousands of years of interactions, sometimes violent, sometimes more peaceful. The English Language is almost a personification of that mongrelisation. It is probably the most mongrelised language on Earth. Sure its basis is Anglo Saxon (which itself is a combination of several albeit related Germanic languages), but it has so much else thrown into the mixing pot. To close, one of my favourite arguments against White Supremacy is really quite simple. If you are White, somewhere between 2.5 - 4.5% (depending where you come from) of your DNA is not even Human, its Neanderthal...... Yes, I am White, I embrace that small percentage of Neanderthal blood!
