I really belive that the fact that so many authors can start from 0 makes a ton of opportunities for masterpieces to be created,I've read a lot of fiction books in my life,but then I found shadow slave webnovel and let me tell you,I am almost sure that I will never read something better than it,it's just the most perfectly tailored story for me and it's an absolute masterpiece

Wow, I had no idea that most of the web novel sites are actually South Korean or Chinese. Very interesting!

webfiction is one suuuper deep rebbit hole .... that's also, like basically everything else, very opinionated. Though, trying to see the good side of that, speaks to the passion many a reader gives it ! (even if some are trying to push their opinion unasked and vehemently onto others, but that is something that happens everywhere on the internet and happened long before the internet was even conceived) . I myself dipped my toes into webfiction about 8ish y ago, read about 4-5k chapters, and a lot of the tropes really work for me. But it also is a "commitment" in a way also, MoonQuill combined with that logo, and that "cover" within the video - Lord of Goblins

awesome video, I'm surprised at the visuals you guys got. Wuxiaworld, bakuman, legacy RRL, joy of life (?). litrpg definitely showcases web fictions and literature, wuxia & danmei for chinese, and progression fantasy. enjoyed what got discussed. the 2016 contract system transition to the 2019-2020 contract system. Interesting focus on english webfictions with chinese and korean translations. amazon web publishing / kindle. interesting choice choosing baka-updates over syosetu, but makes sense when mentioning novelupdates. T^T, superhero genre (worm).

I've actually been thinking about making a webnovel, but I want to present it as a fake video game. Hear me out. I've slowly been getting into pixel art, and I love it. I don't have a drawing pad or anything. All I can do is click-click. But just the other day, I was watching that amazing fake games video that Super Eyepatch Wolf uploaded (a creator with whom I'm certain we're all familiar); and it got me to thinking. A webnovel with illustrations in pixel art that make the world look like a video game. I know there's potential there.

I have read an unhealthy amount of webfiction... and have never read anything with that premise. Except in a few cases where the dude is the main villain, of course.
@xerfrex78698 ай бұрын
What type of web fiction are you reading? Most do the stuff I've seen has been litrpg action stuff. If you're seeing CEO romance, it's because you're looking for CEO romance.
@hadibendakji38588 ай бұрын
I think it depends on where you're reading from. For example, Royal Road's bread and butter are Isekai, LitRPG, and a mix of the two, while Scribblehub, afaik, has a mix of everything but leans more on Romance. At least that's what I heard a long time ago. I tend to stick to RR since my favourite series are there, and the only other website that I read off of was Webnovel before it went to shit. It was mostly for "Release that Witch", "Mech Touch", and "Rise of the Undead Legion."

Those kinds would be more along the Asian space of webnovels, primarily the tyrant CEO novels of Chinese webnovels. But that is actually just a small fraction of the entire webnovel space.
@samantaluna3870Ай бұрын
Thats mostly Wattpad and Radish, other sites like Tapas, Royal Road and Moonquill are into other genres.
