🕊Hi Kinga, just an extra bilharzia comment. The host for the parasite is a type of snail that can only exist in slow moving or static water. In Lake Kariba, for example, you may well catch bilharzia if you swim from the shore, but if you take a boat out to deep water you will be OK. Rule of thumb: fast flowing water, small rapids etc, guaranteed no host snails and thus no bilharzia. In the 1960s and 70s the 5-day cure was awful, horrible. Stay safe😉Ernie

Being from Africa, just a few tips... avoid ice in your drink because you do not know the quality of the water is was made from.. also only cooked food! Avoid salads as Hepatitis is also quite common... this not an issue in a place like South Africa but further North that is a reality! Of course we will not need to talk about Malaria right? Do not take a chance, any flu like symptoms just get tested immediately! Safe travels and enjoy Africa! Love your channel and you!

The real danger is folks heading back to Western countries and not understanding bilharzia. Often doctors in the US and EU don’t know what symptoms to look for so it can get quite bad. I had a friend in Italy take 2 years to get a correct diagnosis while my African doctor sorted me out immediately

Hello. Two years ago, when you traveled to Iran, a traffic policeman tried to take extra money from you because of the road, but fortunately failed. I saw that video and recorded that part to hand over to the Iranian police. I was very upset that the police wanted to do that, especially motorcyclists like you. Rest assured that the Iranian police inspectorate will take action against that corrupt police to prevent this from happening again. Meanwhile, I was very, very happy that you were a guest of my country and city (Kermanshah) on a motorcycle for a few days 🌹🌹🌹❣❣❣❤❤❤

I was told, when living in Africa, that you won't get biharzia if you only swim in the deeper water away from the shore as the snails that carry the worms live in the shallow water at the edges of the lakes.

That's correct. You can only catch it at the shore.
