This is a montage of clips I saved during my latest attempts at speedrunning the hardcore glitchless category of Subnautica.
I hope my failures are entertaining :)
I started the attempt counter at 1 for this grind but that doesn't mean these were my first attempts. I made over 1,300 attempts at this category alone last year.
If you're curious how attempts usually go, about 9/10 are reset to get a better spawn, then about 1/2 are reset due to seaglide fragments, and then about 3/4 are reset due to bad radiation warning.
What's the radiation warning? That's the warning the game gives randomly between 9:12 and 16:00 after starting the game. Multiply the time it happens by 5 and you'll know when the Aurora is going to explode. In glitchless we can't finish the game until the Aurora explodes so it's important for it to happen as soon as possible.
For me to get a 1:03:xx I needed the rad warning to happen before 10:45, which has a 23% chance of happening. I often went days without a run getting past 10:45.
