The issue with the weapon upgrade packs is that the left hand is already attached to the weapon, so to use them with the older marks, you would have to carefully shave off the hands so they work with the old-style cradle hands. Either that or you chop the old hand off the arm, but you may have some difficulty lining the weapon up with the old arm poses. TLDR; it’s possible but it may take a fair about of work.

In all honesty, I would add the Heavy Weapons squad and a Kratos to the XIII. Then call them done… Then I would swap over to a traitor legion for Heresy V2.0. The Road to Calth title for the series still fits for Word Bearers 😆, but personally I’m not a fan of Word Bearers…I’m personally going Death Guard. I’m just recommending going a traitor legion for V2.0 but I would also try for a legion that doesn’t play like ultramarines.

Entrance to the eye, or decent unto damnation. If you wanted to add some more ultramarines with my 6 you could theme them around the reconstruction of the legion post the betrayal at calth. Also there are predators and sicarians coming out. That said you really sound like you really want to play word bearers. Also Erebus let’s you take daemons which is pretty cool.

Word bearers- Betrayal at Calth. Alongside a further addition of more units to the Ultramarines as most things got cheaper points wise. I've seen people converting the Mk6 weapons onto other mark's with a little work with cutting hands off the arms and green stuff the wrist. Far cheaper and great looking.

Yeah, I’d be all about watching a new series of your army build, and I think the Word Bearers would be a great choice. I was thinking at the beginning of the video, before you even asked for a name suggestion, though Road From Calth, while admittedly not very exciting, could be an appropriate name. Looking forward to whatever you choose👍🏻

Yeah unfortunately unless you shave the hand off the special and heavy weapons they are only mkvi compatible. Forgeworld does still have the packs of 5 heavy weapons for mk 3,4 & 5 though. Additionally some of them definitely look cooler than the mk 6 versions as well.

Word bearers suck as a legion, many better choices if you go traitor, 1000 sons, night lords, alpha legion......

Another vote for Lorgar's boys, you could even add the heavy weapons and Kratos to them instead!
