And they started out with superior position. Mace Windu himself could have wiped out most of the Separatist leadership. Why the hell did they all decide to jump into he middle of the arena? I can understand a couple Jedi to help pull the three of them out, but they all gave up the high ground!

The problems with the combat tactics the Jedi used in this engagement were, 1) they allowed themselves to be surrounded by a numerically superior enemy, 2) they failed to secure an egress route, 3) they abandoned their tactically superior positions, 4) they underestimated their enemies morale and will to fight, 5) they weapons they used were not well suited to fight their enemy, 6) instead of retreating to a more defensible position/retreating after they secured their objectives, they chose to stay in an exposed position and fight. These are just a few reasons why, in my eyes, the Jedi from the Clone Wars era(with a few exceptions) will never be more than this universe's equivalent of a bunch of robe wearing Colonel Custers.

This arena battle shows how easy it would actually be for the CIS to wipe out the republic and jedi without the help of the clones. The only reason the Jedi were conveniently saved at Geonosis (Dooku stopping the Droids) is because Palpatine needed the clone wars in order to form the empire & make the Jedi public enemy.

Good plan, and would have been beneficial for ol sheev if that did happen, but jedi masters were not 'powerless'. Even Jango Fett, chosen by the sith to be the best possible clone template to allow them to kill the jedi, fell to Windu.

During the Arena battle the Jedi should have actually fallen back and fought in the tunnels or passages once they reduced the three hostages. This way they could negate the numerical advantage of the droids and not get completely surrounded.

I've always liked the prequels for their developed, in-depth politics that really fleshed out that universe. Tbh a fleshed out universe is better than a spectacular, non-CGI reliant universe any day. This is another reason why Game of Thrones is so much fun, the amount of lore and intricacy is what makes it so great, not the visually stunning fights and masterfully 'choreographed' fights (looking at TLJ's disappearing knives and pointlessly flailing guards that get kicked away with one kick in groups of three)

I find it funny.. even WITH Sideous pulling the strings that such a huge Clone force to match the Droids didnt get detected being such a large group of reinforcements for the Jedi and wasnt reported by the system defenders.. Like did they really if they actually took a few with them have that much trouble yelling over the intranet to Geonosis ground units: "Alert, Massive Republic Military force Headed your way! Please help were being over---"

probably the same reason why Naboo couldn't send a distress signal to the republic and the Republic when informed by naboo's queen on what's going on they still had to sit around and debate and never send help because the Queen had no proof of being invaded and Naboo had to fight alone against the battle droid army..... Invading force jams communications break the CIS fleet who were already broken from before and land on the planet within an hour. While the planet's military might of detect a battle in space they wouldn't be quick enough to inform the people in the arena about the invasion and only had enough time to activate their battle droids army in time to fight the republic. Remember it took the US over an hour to be informed that they were attacked at Pearl harbor..... and an hour late by the US military intelligent to inform their military of a possible attack on the harbor.

Too bad it took repeated attacks for the Clones to realize they shoulda jist went all the way the first time and decively finished and subdued the locals before moving on.. probably woulda saved them a few costly battles and quite a bit of people and equipment lost

@@robertagu5533 Of course what I have said from before is just me trying find a solution of the really big plot hole in the movie. In reality I think atleast their be air raid warnings or sirens before the massive invasion. So really what I said before is just trying to justify the plot hole in the movie when it should be obvious that the defending space fleet should of had a way to send a message of some kind to the military on the ground. You think the military would be alerted as soon they lost contact with their defensive space fleet in orbit and this inform their population in the area of attack to brace themselves.... Not to mention the droid army had no air force guarding an arena full of people is weird as well as clone dropships flies down casually in the arena to save the jedi.

Or it's like you said, local were jammed and hit so fast they didnt stand a chance an had no idea the Clones were comin fill they kicked in the front door an started shooting up the place.. but lack of unopposed air power till plot calls for it is of note there now you mention it. Save for the Dooku scenes now I think of it, didnt see ANY droid air support just lots of Clones gunning down Droids that did no better then slow them down

I thought the book Before The Storm would have been referenced. I can't remember the plot of the story. Is it worth hearing about the Legends material if it doesn't matter anymore? Was it a waste of time to have been heavly invested in reading something that isn't relevant anymore? Does learning about the Star Wars galaxy mean anything when you're dead?
