An occasional video, or ten, on the agenda of the Republican Party under Abraham Lincoln could help convince people that the "Party of Lincoln" was condemned as "Socialist" before the Civil War, during the Civil War, and after the Civil War, because the right wing has an extremely long history of condemning competent government as "Socialist." “The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves-in their separate, and individual capacities.” Abraham Lincoln July 1, 1854. .

@SarafinaSummers According to the last video updates from Beau and Belle, he needed a break for his mental health, but he's doing well. He was a bit overworked and needed to step away from the channels. I totally understand. He was posting multiple videos a day for years, with minimal breaks. I've been following the channels almost since they started, and the only time I recall him taking a break was when he had a minor surgery and he was back within days of his surgery. Beau was a trooper, and he stuck it out for a long time. We all miss him terribly, and we hope that he'll return one day, but we also know that he really needed to take a break. Granted... we didn't expect it to be a permanent one, but we all want him to do what's best for his mental well-being. I still hold out hope that one day I will hop on KZbin and see his smiling face saying, "Well, howdy there, internet people... it's Beau again, and I'm back. "... but, if I don't, I'll forever appreciate his wise words and that he helped to navigate us through the trump years, COVID, most of the Biden administration, and some pretty precarious social issues. He will always be remembered as THE calm voice in the storm that was the past 6 or 7 years of our lives. (I can't recall if the channel started in 2018 or 2019) In saying all that, I'd like to add that he has had some of the best news team helping him in the background that we are happy to see step into the forefront. That's including Belle, who is doing a fabulous job taking over for Beau as the lead commentator, Dana, and Dee. They are all absolutely amazing, and they are all transitioning well. We even got to meet Bryon for a few episodes. Beau has left us in great hands, and I can't wait to continue following the journey of the Fifth Column Team. 🤗 We'll always miss Beau, but we can see that, through his team, his ideas for the channels will forever live on. 🥹🥰💕

I actually began vetting my circle years ago. I don’t interact with Cheetolini supporters except to sell to them, and then it’s just business. And I’m thinking of charging my own tariff with them and donating to orgs that can use it. The wonderful part is that healthier people take up the spaces and build community. Community building will be critical now. Gardening, sewing, etc will be valuable skills. Golden Girl living arrangements, mommunes, etc are becoming popular. As concerned as I am nowadays it’s such a nice feeling knowing I have people who will support and share where we all can.

Every Thanksgiving we invite "orphans". People who will be alone or otherwise outcast from their own families
@firequeen219426 күн бұрын
That’s wonderful. Like Kamala said, “a family of love, not blood”. I guess there’s a lot of us reinventing our families. I’m not even that broken up about it, to be honest. I’ve been a black sheep on both sides of my family for being liberal. Too honest, too caring, too much a champion of the underdog. Oh, and not a drunk, or an addict, or three times divorced, or a battered spouse. 🤦♀️. I won’t be missing much 😉. I’m almost 58 and willing to be adopted or I will lovingly adopt children or grandchildren who need support. Childless cat lady and US veteran myself 😁.

It should be remembered that the basis of Thanksgiving is that Native Americans from the Wampanoag Tribe helped the pilgrims seeking refuge from religious persecution in their native country, England, by teaching them how to farm and hunt, preventing their starvation. It should be a reminder our history of taking care of immigrants, not turning them away.

its kinda a shame they helped them. puritans were horrible people teaching the worst possible version of Christianity lol. they first went to the netherlands who allowed all religions but that wasn't good enough for them they wanted to make sure no one could leave their cult.
@FireSilver2527 күн бұрын
That’s a myth. It was a celebration of a massacre of Natives. At least that’s what the descendants of that tribe claim, and I think it’s in the colonists’ logs.

Just like in a DV situation, you shouldn't allow yourself to be abused/harassed/insulted/mocked/put down and should do everything possible to remove yourself from such an environment, and then feel glad about having done so. You deserve it! Happy Thanksgiving! Edited to add: Perhaps consider working at a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving; the people there will likely show you appreciation and gratitude, you'll feel good having done it, and it helps others.

Thank you, Belle, you certainly are a 'helper'. It is sad that so many people can't enjoy just being together at this fraught time, but 60 years ago we all had to sit through my Dad and Grandpa arguing about Germany. They looked forward to this, I'm certain. Point is the fracture in family just heightens when allowed to surface. The only difference now is that people choose to tolerate the hate or not. Peace to everyone this holiday season.

I "love" how conservative Christians just say "Christian" like it's a monolith. It's not even a monolith among conservative Baptists. Or even my fairly united UCC, where i can be openly queer & agnostic & still sing in the choir. (what can I say, I'm a sucker for half way decent music. & my choir never sings straight out of the hymnal) there are more sub sects of Christianity than tiles on my high school's floors.

Srsly, if someone wants the kind of fellowship you find at church, there is a wealth of choice. Many people don't understand the difference between denominations, or even between congregations. I was raised Lutheran, and let it go at 18, but it was a pretty nice place for most of those years.
