Between his divorce and being traumatized by a former Hollywood Former Press Association president, he's been through hell didn't want to be in anything until Doom Patrol came around where he was beginning to feel ready to try the filmmaking business again. As for the Rock, nobody can say whether or not he's close friends with Fraser, but it's pretty obvious that they have mutual respect for one another.
