I think this has a lot of potential and I like the idea but it's just missing a few factors. The writing needs to be done in a way that compliments Dom's style of comedy more and makes the episodes flow better, the editing needs to be a bit more high quality, and the project needs a bigger budget in order to have a more professional look to it. Too many of Dom's fans are dismissing this too easily without giving it a chance to grow and develop into it's own thing. The only unfortunate part is that I doubt that The Rock is willing to pour enough resources into this project to get it to that level.

As armchair producer, in my opinion, so far there's not enough broscience in the episodes. There's some illusion to Dom's dislike of classes with his hesitance to incorporate the chick classes, but he doesn't really elaborate on why he hates classes. I would think he could spend some time walking around the gym yelling at folks for what they're doing wrong (half repping, using the smith machine, kipping pull-ups, gloves, cardio, etc) and right (skipping leg day, curls, bench press, etc). Many broscience clips have Dom talking to an imaginary lifter - these episodes could feature a real person there and their reactions to Dom. I feel like the episodes are too reliant on the female trainer and the accountant, and they should be side-plots with the main plot being broscience with additional actors. Another great episode idea would be based on the "Do you even lift" broscience clip where Dom goes in search for the mythical lifter but keeps coming up short due to people "needing to work on their lats", "not touching their chest", and "being white while working out in a park." It's only half of one episode, so we'll have to see how future full episodes play out. There's a lot of potential from the broscience clips.

Agree 100%. They should have a gym based on all the insane or somehow rational stuff he came up with over the years. Like have an episode about a program where he kicks out all the new years resolution people at like 9:30 am or clear out half the gym for parking spots. Or do a special where he flies a drone and gives dudes pagers that go off when its cool to take off their shirts at a barbecue. The biggest problem with this though is Broscience is about Dom being larger than life and somehow fun to look up to. The show should celebrate that aspect. Instead they just make him a bumbling idiot that the supporting cast has to corral around. The Office cuts are played out too.

See here's what they fucked up. They went headfirst into this big storyline with all these characters. The heart of broscience is, getting deep, way too deep, into the world and the psychology of a true bro. A real lifter. The best videos ever, the core videos in my mind, were the ones on how to cut, how to bulk, and how to deadlift. And the really early ones. There's something simultaneously ridiculous but also deeply alluring about the world of the bro. There has to be that charisma, that desire to get deeper into it. This world with its own rules, its own standards. You kind of want to get it, and you even want to be judged worthy. The secret to broscience is it celebrates bro culture even more than it makes fun of it. Probably one of the things they struggled with was how to make it accessible to people who "dont even lift." But that's just the thing. The videos suck you in because the premise is that they're "teaching" you about the world of the bro. Beginners are welcome. If you have no idea what a deadlift is, you might not really get it at the end either but you will have some idea and you will be very intrigued. The truth is fitness culture is weird but also really interesting. Basically, I think they should take it a little more seriously than they do. Like the original broscience did. What they could've done is had a dude who is coming to the gym for the first time, a total noob. And Dom Mazzetti shows him around, teaches him the ways of the gym. That's what a lot of the early content was. And then the could have slowly built this other stuff into it. But the heart of it would have been set up already.

I hope Mike and the producers read these comments and take them to heart. There are a lot of Broscience fans that really care about Mike and Gian and want them to succeed that are frankly horrified by what is coming out of this and what it might do to` his rep if it goes in this lowbrow direction and flops.

I "liked" this video, because I think it has potential--but there are a number of glaring issues that need to be sorted out. First, the good stuff: Pros: good premise Dom female lead Cons: poor direction some poor acting from other cast members (this could be direction) writing needs work For example, the accountant Dom hires is made to be a bit ridiculous. All you need for conflict is for him to be a normal skinny guy who doesn't work out--that's all you need to create comedic conflict with Dom. This goes for most of the characters. They don't need to be blown out. Yes, they should have their own personalities, but for a show, they should be believable characters. Dom is the most unbelievable character--and how he interacts with others is what should drive the dialog and create the conflict. Regarding episode two, the gnar pump thing went overboard. Snorting it? Maybe Dom does a bump of it, but that's it. Also, I'm not sure what would actually happen if you snorted pre-workout but probably he'd sneeze and pink paste would be coming out of his nose for the next scene. If that's what would happen, just do that. He doesn't have to have a crazy reaction to it. And it shouldn't drive the entire gym insane--at least not to that degree. TONE DOWN THE OTHER CHARACTERS. Again, I think there's potential here, but scrap everything and start again. Invest time and get the right people involved.

Dom Mazzetti is funny because it's very easy to believe in the character on his youtube channel and it doesn't exactly transition that well to true television format. When you're trying to pack in the comedy and nobody else in the scene even comes close to being as funny as a single character (because of how over the top that one character is) it just doesn't work.

How to enjoy this series: 1. Forget the Old Dom Videos. This series is completely different. You can't compare it to the old, low quality, stop/cut videos - just like you can't compare Broscience to the old Dom Mazzetti interviews. 2. Understand What It's Supposed to Be. They're making a mockumentary revolving around an incompetent boss who is amazing at improv. It's the same as Office or Parks. If you like those shows, then you should like this. Stop imagining Broscience. 3. Take Time to Fall in Love with the Characters. Just like anything on Netflix, the chemistry and timing takes a few episodes to lock in. You need time to develop inside jokes and history. These are only TEN MINUTE EPISODES. It's going to take maybe 5-6 episodes (probably more!) to really start connecting with the characters. It usually takes me like 4-5 half hour episodes on Netflix to start really loving the characters. I already love the old guy and his chemistry with Dom, and I've only seen 2 ten minute episodes! 4. Appreciate the Improv. Like Office or Parks, this is a lot of improv. Look for those golden moments where Dom is saying goofy shit that couldn't possibly have been scripted. The rest of the actors are actually doing a great job with improv, too. I'd bet the scene where the accountant brings in the briefcase and Dom says, "It's not gonna be a bomb, is it?" and he replies, "...It is... DA bomb!" was a clever improv between the two. Mike and Gian - ignore the haters. This is already really good. I'm excited for where it's going from here!

Feel like Dom is the only interesting character. Mark and Kelly have some potential but they just don't seem right... Idk what it is.. unfortunately I don't know enough to give proper constructive advice, but I know this is off. Like Dom and the old guy was just awkward and weird screaming and I'm not really sure what they were saying except presentation. And all the other random characters are kinda weird and cringy like the guys who were asking Dom for training advice. Maybe Dom's character is too much for a show with so many other characters. Like when its him and Brad on Bros vs they balance well and all the other persons in that show have no personality really, just people to bounce their sillyness off..
