Wow! I was at this place back in 1984..middle of the night with a beautiful lady, a beautiful full moon over the spectacular east slope of the Sierra Nevada mountains ..Cindy, if you're out there, I've never forgotten you! Glad to see it's not been overrun.

I'm on a trip now. Went to the Nevada property to get out the the weather. Was up warm lake area and it stared to down pour and snow as I was driving off the mountain. I was cold!!! Leaving tomorrow for more adventures but don't know where to go! lol

I was at Rock Tub last month. Was beautiful with nice people as usual soaking together. I love the eastern Sierras hot springs.

IR Thermometers like you used are pretty poor at measuring water temps because they measure surface temps which can vary a lot. For about $4 you can get a household thermometer at Walmart. Tie it to a stick to get it into the water and it will give you an accurate reading. I really like my IR thermometers for convenience, but water temp is one place they are unreliable.

Northwest of Crowley Lake,CA. The area has several nice soaking places. A system of faults over a weak spot in the Earth really allows water underground to heat up nicely. Long Valley caldera spot over prehistoric Lake Russell.

I’ve seen those vents previously in places to vent off gassing of old buried dumps. It would be interesting to research what they were for in the area of your video.
