I love the no-inlay fretboards. Wish more people would do that!

Recently got one like this, only all black. This bass is really the best of two worlds. It can sound modern or get woody hollow body goodness. How you play, how you dial it in, and the strings you choose will of course, like any other bass, determine the "personality" of the bass. I installed some D'adderio chrome flat wound strings on my bass. It's like I stepped into another world!! If you would enjoy getting away from the modern bass sound, but maybe visit there sometimes, this is a bass that can do that. Thanks to Andy Irvine for the reviews that helped me make a good choice, and get one!

Great demo. Really showcases the versatility and great design of this beautiful bass. Also, looks like Andy is having a lot of fun!

The thing that grabs my attention is the body shape, I don't like the typical Warwick... shall we say "phallyc" part that sticks out of the main body.. It just doesn't look cool. That said, I can't help but be a metalhead and wonder what this same shape would sound like with a set of good active pickups.

Nice bass, too bad there not available. I was going too make the purchase but after an exhaustive search I could only locate a few in black only (no thanks). Whats up with that Warwick? Your channel, perhaps you'll respond?

They are available in Thomann if you're still interested.

Could you play metal with this bad boy?!

idk but that bass had very fat and thick tone.

Well Rex Brown has one so I assume yes. Lee Sklar once mentioned that the Starbass is pretty versatile.

Here's some samples of my WPS (Korea) StarBass 5, there's some clean fingerstyle at the beginning but then some pick+OD (my main gig is moden HC music). I usually do subs for a metalcore band. I would bring my StarBass to that gig without any complex. Only thing "hollow" about this bass is it's louder when unplugged, amplified/recorded it's just a very warm and fat Jazz Bass, with delicate and detailed highs (never clanky nor hissy) . Hope it helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoaaqIh3pseNqrs

Looking at the specs, the five string is tuned EADGC?
@stefanomorbidelli88783 жыл бұрын
No, It's BEADG, but I think you can put EADGC on it (not sure).

Aaaand another Presentation of a 5-String Bass, where the low B string only gets touched as a thumbrest.
@travis86653 жыл бұрын
Bullshit. Try a 5. You will never go back.
@torothomassen9581 Жыл бұрын
That was not waht he ment. He wanted to see the B string being used, but the guy in the video only use it as a thumb-rest. I also wanted to see how the B string sounded like, but he just don’t test it.
