One of my friends gave me one of these back in 2002. I learned how to make music with it and I never had the handbook. I created an entire CD worth of music that people still listen to today. I just recently threw it out. Over the years it became damaged and was missing knobs. This video brings me back to thanks.

A year ago, thanks to this series of videos, I decided to buy a second-hand 307 and I've been in love with it ever since. Just add that if you connect a good midi keyboard, it is impressive what it can do for someone who is not deaf and handicapped like me. Thank you very much Gearfacts

You didn't even touch upon it, but the 470 RPS patterns in the MC-307 is arguably it's strongest feature. I can only imagine just how insane a pair of MC-307's with a XV-5080 being controlled by both of them would sound with it's 256 polyphony and 64 timbrality and mind blowing real time RPS pattern control endless amounts of inspiration.

I gave mine to a friend years ago......after watching this, I honestly don't regret it. The workflow on it was nice, but in terms of sound quality and then the finer points of working with this required the patience of a DX7 programmer, hence why Eno was one of the few. It hads it time and place inspiring people to get into music and then go on to buy nice gear, but I wouldn't recommend picking one up as they go for more than worth these days, I paid 200euro for mine back in 2003 ish, they go for more now

Oh wow I love how the “Rezo Booster” preset at 4:19 goes from sounding like a Mega Man 8-bit soundtrack to sounding like a decent acoustic organ to a space-age psychedelic pad with just a few knob turns. I have one of these arriving tomorrow and this gives me a lot to think about!

I still use that sequencer to this day to fire off a bunch of my analogs. Love love the 305 sequencer and keyboard. I route the transpose to a fort switch and go to town almost using it like an arranger.

@@kimble02 What is a fort switch?
@kimble027 ай бұрын
@@krzysztofwaclawski9002 it’s a switch the size of a fort! 😂 autocorrect… I meant foot switch. I just use a foot switch and assign it to the transpose button and got to town transposing basslines or patterns on the fly to a different key. It’s tons of fun that way!

...got me a MC-307 just a month ago for 250€ and I´m happy, but of course, I still have to spend some time with it in order to get deeper into it. Also have a JV-880 (sound expander), XP-10 and a JX-305 (no boxes, but anyways), ...boxes: MC-909, MC-808 and a MC-303 and that particular one (MC-303) will be the first of my Roland gears that I am going to sell one day, I guess.

@sheepkillindog6 жыл бұрын
Use the circuit as a sequencer and use external synths like a meeblip or a MicroKorg. You can use the microkorg to send midi into the circuit too. The circuit sounds just don’t seem to cut it alone
@kimble024 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure they’re both (505 and 307) are both based on the JV engine at the time. I believe it was the JV1080. But the 307 has more wave forms. The 505 has less of the JV 1080 And the 307. The 306 came out after the 505 with an “updated” soundset to the 505. The factory patches of the 505 are terribly dated. Still a capable engine, but lotsa work to make it sing.

i gotta ask ...how did you do that ? ...i have never seen or heard these in the presets ...but i've only had the 307 a few months so still getting to grips with it ( more DJ old skool) than making music at the moment ...but i only see like psy trance....bleep...and then it goes to numbers to mix with and that i have to write down the "track" numbers, as opposed to the psy trance..track style ...but its my favourite bit of kit

I am using one of those multi-volt adaptors i.e 8v-9v-12v I have it switched to 9v but maybe I will buy a new cable. Do you think that's the issue?
@gearfacts6 жыл бұрын
I think it's possible but I'm no technician. I'd check that the multi adapter is able to feed enough milliAmps into the unit (I think it needs 1000 but check the manual). Insufficient mA can cause spontaneous restarts. Beyond that I can't think of what it might be apart from, simply, a fault. Hope it comes good for you :) Gearfacts
