The Roll & Go vs. the Modified Travel Lint Roller (DIY victory roll tool)

Trying out both on the same style and honestly, both work just as well for me and what I’m doing. The Roll & Go is nice because of the two barrel sizes, the modified travel lint roller is nice because it cost me a dollar. For throwing it in your makeup bag and going I don’t recommend the Roll & Go, if you’ve spent the money on it you don’t want to break it. The modified travel lint roller is the better option for tossing into your makeup bag.
The size of your rolls will depend on 1. How much hair you roll into whatever you’re using. 2. The hair type you have. Someone with thicker hair vs. someone with thinner hair will yield different results with the same amount of hair rolled into the same tool. I’ve styled victory rolls on thick naturally wavy hair and they were so easy to do and came out perfectly and bigger than I had expected for the little bit of hair I used.
The end result was that I liked the results from both the diy victory roll hair tool and the Roll & Go. I don't feel like one was better than the other and the performed equally as well. If you're looking for a quick tool to do your victory rolls then my homemade victory roll hair tool hack will serve its purpose.

My hair is long and fine, and I've been having a lot of problems with the Roll N Go. I'm considering returning it, because it hasn't worked thus far.

My hair is fine too and even if I rat it and spray it before rolling it to give it some bulk...I take it down and it just falls again lol, I don't have to deal with unratting it. When my hair was longer it was a pain to use the Roll N Go. My hair is now just under my chin so I feel like the Roll N Go is easier to use. It still doesn't give me the results I want. I still use my modified lint roller. I feel like it works better for my hair type .

What method did you use to create the curls in your hair at the start of the video? They're great--neither too tight nor too loose!

I used the modified lint roller to create overnight pin curls and setting lotion on nearly dry hair. Since this video though my hair is down to my waist again so my curls are heavier and get weighed down and don’t last as long.

How did you modify the lint roller? I can't seem to find one that has 2 prongs. Did you cut the shape?

Miriam Pace it’s been driving me bonkers, I haven’t found the same style lint rollers at the dollar store and I wanted to do a video showing my modification. The roller had the two prongs and a band that I sniped that was connecting them. I filed the plastic down with just a nail file. I’ve used things like the barrel of a small curling iron and even tubes of mascara to roll my hair around.

I found it! After searching many places I found it at Dollar Tree... If you get the 2-pack lint rollers... One is regular size, one is travel size and they are bundled together...the brand is called Essentials... And you can look down in the clear plastic and see if this is the right one. You will need to cut off some bits on the end.

Wish I'd thought of this! I too have seen someone on KZbin use a wooden doll clothespin. Seeing this made me think, what about those Swiffer dusters with two parts? If you take off the top duster part, the bottom has two plastic prongs and seems about the same width as your lint roller, but the prongs are longer so probably more secure for rolling. I have the duster--curious to try it!

For wet hair I like the modified lint roller because it gives tighter curls and I am so awkward with the roll and go still...I don't feel like I can get my rolls secure enough
