Some other great Stones' songs - "Heartbreaker" w/Billy Preston on keys. "Miss You" is funky as hell. "B*tch" is a thumpy banger. "Midnight Rambler" is swampy. "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", is great bluesy jam.

The Rolling Stones considered themselves an R&B act, at least in the early years. They were inspired by the US R&B music the same way Led Zeppelin was inspired by US Delta blues. Fun fact: Playboy magazine used to list their top picks for bands in various genres every year, and the Stones won the R&B category more than once in the 70’s.

Rumored that Jagger penned this about David Bowie's 1st wife. "Wild Horses" is beautiful. "Gimme Shelter" is my fav, but there are so many hits: "Sympathy for the Devil," "Painted Black," "Brown Sugar," "B*tch," "Shattered," "Miss You," "Start Me Up" to name a few. Enjoy this deep deep rabbit hole. ✌🏽 Edit: If you can get a hold of a video from way back where Stones perform live "Sympathy for the Devil," it's very much the Stones and rock back in the day. I believe they did some circus themed show or similar. 👌🏽

So correct, guys, anyone can identify with the multitude of emotions 😢. When the lyric "with no money in our coat" as you said, every young couple in love can feel that lyric, it's a point in every relationship when the voice in the back of your mind asks yourself (what am I doing here?"

Great reaction to one of the Stones great ballads. I really recommend "Wild Horses", another great ballad with a country influence, for a reaction. Shout out to the late, great Nicky Hopkins on piano on Angie, and SO many more great Stones songs. He was the absolute king of piano session men, appearing on over 200 albums. He played with the Who, the Stones, the Kinks, and the Beatles, as well as with each Beatle individually. And many, many more! And he was crucial to SO MANY great songs...he was always more than just sitting in, he was creating, and he was an absolutely brilliant musician. By all accounts a great person too. Every rock fan should know his name. RIP

This song was written about or was inspired by David Bowie’s wife at the time. It’s a fantastic track, soulful and heartfelt. Another stellar Stones track that follows the more laidback path is “Waiting for a Friend”. It’s got such a East Village 1978 vibe.

You could literally do a top 100 Songs of the Rolling Stones and have to leave some really good music out. Some obscure songs by these guys that is fire are Melody and Hot Stuff off of the Black and Blue album, Heaven, the son (Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo) Heartbreaker, Monkey Man, Spider to a Fly, Before They Make Me Run, and Happy, both sung by Keith Richards, Stray Cat Blues, Commit a Crime, Rip This Joint, Sweet Virginia, Send Her To Me, Shattered, Fool To Cry, Bitch, Brown Sugar. The list goes on and on.
