I always loved this video. I saw its premier on the Midnight Special late night TV show as a teenager. I guess it was 1974. This was Mick Taylors last album with the Stones. Mick Taylor is the blond guitarist. Taylor had a very serious heroin habit and had his doubts he would survive if he kept up a Stones lifestyle. Also of note is that poor Charlie Watts almost was drowned by the bubbles. It's hilarious as his drum kit disappears in bubbles. Rest in Peace Charlie!

The running joke is that Keith Richards was supposed to die a couple years before this video was made. People since the 70s have been saying everytime a star dies from drugs, "how did so and so die and Keith Richards is still alive" Apparently he gave up heroin in 1979, and only had the "purest" of cocaine. (his excuse for still living). Other people will say "Keith plays pretty good for being dead."

No I'm sorry but Keith Moon took extreme partying to another level but you can't really say " The Who " as a band were really hard partyers. Pete drank and done drugs a bit as did John,Roger was the most boring rock star ever, hardly drank,no real drugs etc a few groupies was it. Also the same for Led Zep,Jimmy Page and John Bonham YES but Robert and John Paul Jones didn't really party to the same level,so I don't think The Who and Led Zep can be said to be on the same level as the rest for partying because as a band they were a lot tamer than others BUT some of their members were real party animals, Keith Moon takes top spot according to all their peers,Eric Clapton felt he didn't have a problem after getting smashed with Moon all day ( Eric was drinking 2 bottles of brandy a day at this time 😂)

The funny thing about the promos for the material from It's Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (1974) is how engaged Taylor seemed before departing. On the “Ain't Too Proud to Beg” promo, he's moving and singing and smiling even more than here. I didn't recall offhand that Mick Taylor (the blonde guitarist) was still in the band at this point. But that's definitely not Ron Wood (his replacement). Huh. I always thought the lyrics were about Mick feeling burnt out by the pressure of being creative ("dig down deep in my soul, spill it all over the page") and being angry at the audience, that he feels is never satisfied ("Would it be enough for your teenage lust? Would you think the boy is strange?"). But the chorus is his calming himself, telling himself he doesn't have to be deep and profound every time, there's nothing wrong with just plain "rock and roll", as opposed to the deeper work from earlier in the decade. Which, fair enough. This is an old favorite of mine. (The "suicide right on the stage" lyric got me good.). But OTOH, the songs from the late '70s do seem simpler than the Nixon-era songs. Which is why "Sticky Fingers" and "Exile on Main St." make the "greatest albums of all time" lists, and "Some Girls" and "Black and Blue" don't. It's not just that Mick Taylor was a better guitarist than Ron Wood. (Mick often played LEAD guitar, relegating Keith Richards to rhythm. Whereas Keith has pretty much always been the big dog with Woody in the band.) Next? Maybe "Monkey Man"? (It's not racist.). Or perhaps "Let It Bleed"? (Mick does like to sing about blood, doesn't he?) Thanks for the good work.

I don't know how you determine which version of a song is picked for your videos, but this is another very inferior version of the song. This was recorded for a TV performance and doesn't come close to the original album cut. Disappointing.

What recording is this? It's some alternate version, not the regular version on the album. Different vocal take, has extra guitar parts.

Mick Taylor is the second guitarist in this video, but he didn't actually play on the song. Ronnie Wood, the current second guitar played acoustic guitar on the record and Keith played electric guitar.

At 5:00 you see someone walk out and a few seconds later Taylor and Richards are laughing. True story, Charlie is the drummer seated while everyone else is standing. Turns out Charlie almost drowned and had to get out cause he was chocking. The guitar players were laughing

This is a studio version of this song, but it isn't the studio version I've heard my entire life. The other is much better than this one. I could tell immediately there was something wrong with this one from the first few notes. This one is good, but the other is my favorite Rolling Stones song.

Ah yes, the Mick Taylor era Rolling Stones, an all too brief moment of creativity and style. But I'm not sure what is up with the bubbles. All-Time partying bands, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen, Grateful Dead, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, T. Rex..

To be fair, Keith is the one fashion students and designers revere as a style icon! He's famous for his music and the part of his appearance he could actually pick: his style! And not just a pretty face. I'm not trying to say Mick is just a pretty face, which isn't true, but that many other musicians are handsome/ sensual/ attractive because of a pretty face and not choices they made.

Kiss was nothing compared to the stones in terms of party’s. Aerosmith is right under the stones as far as parties go. Steven Tyler is quoted in having said “I must have snorted half of Colombia”

Kiss were notorious for NOT being partiers. Gene the leader was a teetotaller and the 2 who did get too far into substances were eventually removed.

top wild bands to party back in the day: -The New York Dolls -Aerosmith -The Who -The Stones -Led Zeppelin single prize for individual achievements in this category, the one and only Iggy Pop. All the people still alive from this recollection are just walking miracles, the rest are dead because they were humans

When Mick Jagger gives interviews he speaks like an upper class person . It seems like it doesn't gel with his persona , this rock god speaking like he lives with the Queen or something and is remarkably intelligent . It takes a minute to get used to .

The Stones partied hard, sex drugs and rock & roll! That was the Stones, they were considered the bad boys of rock back in the day! One of my brothers is a huge Stones fan! Now Zeppelin was wild too! A lot of those older rock bands were wild and crazy! Mick Jagger was on a whole different level! One of the greatest performers of all time is him!
