The official video for Living In A Ghost Town by The Rolling Stones
Lyrics
I'M A GHOST
LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
I'M A GHOST
LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
YOU CAN LOOK FOR ME
BUT I CAN’T BE FOUND
YOU CAN SEARCH FOR ME
I HAD TO GO UNDERGROUND
LIFE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL
THEN WE ALL GOT LOCKED DOWN
FEEL A LIKE GHOST
LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
ONCE THIS PLACE WAS HUMMING
AND THE AIR WAS FULL OF DRUMMING
THE SOUNDS OF CYMBALS CRASHING
GLASSES WERE ALL SMASHING
TRUMPETS WERE ALL SCREAMING
SAXOPHONES WERE BLARING
NOBODY WAS CARING
IF IT'S DAY OR NIGHT
I'M A GHOST LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
I'M GOING NOWHERE
SHUT UP ALL ALONE
SO MUCH TIME TO LOSE
JUST STARING AT MY PHONE
EVERY NIGHT I AM DREAMING
THAT YOU'LL COME AND CREEP IN MY BED
PLEASE LET THIS BE OVER
NOT STUCK IN A WORLD WITHOUT END
PREACHERS WERE ALL PREACHING
CHARITIES BESEECHING
POLITITIANS DEALING
THIEVES WERE HAPPY STEALING
WIDOWS WERE ALL WEEPING
THERES NO BEDS FOR US TO SLEEP IN
ALWAYS HAD THE FEELING
IT WOULD ALL COME TUMBLING DOWN
I’M A GHOST
LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
YOU CAN LOOK FOR ME
BUT I CAN’T BE FOUND
WE’RE ALL LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
WE WERE SO BEAUTIFUL
I WAS YOUR MAN ABOUT TOWN
LIVING IN THIS GHOST TOWN
IT ISN’T ANY FUN
IF I WANT A PARTY
IT’S A PARTY OF ONE

@@danielward7008 -That's 110% Correct. I remember back in the 90's or so, many were saying for The Stones,Dylan and McCartney to retire. They are too old Blah! Blah! Blah! Hell since the old guys are showing who is King. This new album by Dylan is supposed to be something special. Way beyond lyrically what anyone under 50 is doing. McCartney made 3 excellent albums in a row Chaos And Creation,Memory Almost Full and Electric Arguments that were as good as anything out at the time. Same thing with The Who latest album. It was as vital and powerful as anything out there.

@@hsap2223 I know the Stones are kindergarten rock. I totally hear you - Zappa, King Crimson, Mahavishnu, Santana, Chic Corea, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Debussy, Mozart - there are countless artists that went so much further than the Stones in so many dimensions. But the Stones have a simplicity, purity, accessibility, and connection to Black music that I love. The Stones throb. It's sensual. Real. Raw. But, again, I'm with you, the Stones are really basic. As a guitarist, I will say Keith Richards is an underrated guitarist. He IS the THROB. And Mick and the others GET Richards. And to me that's what a rock band IS. Sensational, gritty guitar.

I agree bout what was said, than Keith Richard is such a great tasteful guitarist. But he's multidimensional, not like a shredder who only knows how to shred. Keith is a connaisseur, I mean he can play, rock, 50's r'n'r, blues, soul, 50's r'n'b, reggae, funk and country. He's also a ballad specialist(he knows Judy Garland tunes. He's always interested by all kind of music. The guy spend a lot of time just listening. He's a master of the different ways of listening (marvelous 80's interwiew in Guitar Player about what and how to listen to music) And he's a huuuge composer. What a fuck*** ARTIST! And Jagger. Here's Sir Jagger, a rich man But he comes from street level school of singing. A spontaneous, natural voice, not trained like the voice athletes of today. So even if he tried he can't escape of that level. So this very rich man is connected to the street level of his youth. What a paradox And he's a so good lyricist, a world class stage performer, he owned the stage There's a lot of great rock musicians down on earth But excuse me, everything bout the Stones is so special. I can't see who's so exciting this last 60 years Long live the Stones!

@** "I do not like a piece of music therefore it is not good," said Asterisk, with arms crossed in authoritative confidence. When everyone laughed, Asterisk scowled in derision and stomped his feet. "Well, it's not!" The laughter increased for a while and then gradually subsided, as the crowd grew bored of the spectacle. People returned to their own conversations. The moment had passed. "It's not," Asterisk muttered to no one in particular. Fittingly, no one replied.

Just by listening the first 2 notes you know it's a Rolling Stones song! The "Stones" rhythm is strong in this one. It reminds us the 60's sound, that these rocking grandpas invented. But the sound is so mature, so sophisticated... Aged like a fine wine... The point where modern meets classic!

Well, I largely agree, but as someone who's been a fan of theirs since 1972, there have been a few albums that have fallen decidedly short, but they've been consistently good starting with 1989's Steel Wheels, with Voodoo Lounge, Bridges to Babylon and A Bigger Bang all being good, solid works. Undercover and Dirty Work from the mid 80's are pretty lacking, unfortunately, and probably their two worst albums. I can hardly wait until the new one comes out!

The word from their producer is that the Stones have 40 recorded tracks for a new album that they have been working on since 2012... from which Blue and Lonesome sessions also came about. The Stones have never spent so long on a record, they are taking their time to make this their Magnum Opus, a masterpiece. An end to the story fitting the legendary and often sublime heights of the glory days. Beyond excited for the new music! Legends
