Yes it's true and they should also have remade "Walking the Dog" and 2 or 3 others from the first LP.

The problem is: true and not true. Certainly the English R&B groups (but also the pop groups) copied wildly. Looted US music. But in the end, they created something of their own. They had to, because Mick Jagger - mercy ! - cannot sing like Don Covay, Eric Burdon doesn't sing like Sam Cooke - and so on. Compare this phenomenon to Van Gogh: he never succeded to paint like an impressionist, so - trying to achieve that - he created, almost unwillingly, his "own style" of painting. What the English created, based on "thefts", is Blues Rock and Rock Music (and Rock is quite different from Rock 'n Roll - originated in the fifties out of the American "theft" (and adaptations) of Blues, R&B and Country songs). "Rock Music", partly originated in England, became "Hard Rock" (based on for example the music of Led Zeppelin - also infamous for their creations based on "thefts"). And - adopted in the US as well, where some groups also looted Blues and R&B and created their kind of (Blues) Rock Music - became then all further derivatives.

There are 2 guitars here. A tremolo and the one playing the licks. Brian was taken ill during the sessions so he could be playing the tremolo guitar on this.

Brian’s in the thumbnail, I don’t think he necessarily needs to be in the video image too.

Wow, an interesting piece of history; they sound like an amateur garage band of teenagers here. Fortunately they figured out the arrangement and crafted a quality final product.
