Well, consider that the Stones (and of course Oldham) were looking ahead to being on Sullivan in the future. It was important for their popularity to keep appearing on American TV. Although the word change altered the meaning of the song, it was just that: one song. Mick's eye roll was a message to their fans that the Stones thought it dumb and not their idea. Morrison just didn't give a s***. The Doors appealed to a different type of audience so in their case it worked in their favor, as the Stone's compliance with Sullivan's demands worked for them.

I own and have listened to every Beatles record A. and B. Helter Skelter is their only tune without a pop feel. How can you tell me Good Morning, Good Morning is rock? Listen to something like Street Fighting Man or I Can See For Miles by the Who and you'll understand how bubbly and soft the Beatles' sound really was. All high production and no rawness.

Andrew Oldham engineered (some say with the willing help of Mick and to a lesser extent Keith) Brian’s diminishing influence& input into the Stones. There are accounts from some band members and others closely aligned to the band that Brian’s substance abuse , alcohol input and frailty of mind during this period resulted in him becoming ineffective and unreliable when the band had some heavy commitments; this was the root cause of his eventual ejection from the band he formed. There were other aggravating factors such as him in the early days taking an additional £10 fee compared to the other members; he was also known to have a mean streak and by all accounts could be a real arsehole. However the fact remains he was an exceptional musician , fashion trendsetter and many, many legends from that period such as Jimi Hendrix, Paul Mc Cartney , Pete Townsend and Bob Dylan held Brian in extremely high regard. I have loved the Stones all my life and I listen to them daily , but I have to say if tragedy had not cruelly taken Brian and he had decided to dig his heels in and remain a Stone things could have , remarkably as it sounds , been even better. God Bless Brian where ever your soul may be!

I guess the youth today can only imagine what impact on our culture that this had back in the day. I still remember th firs time I saw the Stones on Ed Sullivan. Seeing the Beatles first apppearance in February 1964 as a 9 1/2 year old culture-head that I was as the class artist, I thought the Stones were too raunchy, then later with my own maturing age, I learned to appreciate them. It was all a great experience back then. -Mark Seibold, Retired IT Technician, Artist-Astronomy Educator, PDX OR

Mick did NOT like Ed insisting, "You've going to sing 'Let's Spend Some TIME Together', or you're off the show". Note, at 1:19, when he sings the line, he rolls his eyes upward, as if to say to viewers, "See what I have to put up with?".

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards wrote ALL their songs and are responsible for their 50 years of success. Brian Jones was important at the beginning and he developed the band with Richards and Jagger but at the end it was Jagger/Richards who took them to another level. The band is still together after more than 40 years since Jones died. Without Jagger and Richards the band would have never been as popular. THEY are the Rolling Stones.

HMV in Edmonton,Alberta,Canada does not carry the 6-show version of this DVD in their catalog, therefore they would not put it on order for me. Why make two versions and one is missing two shows and the booklet? Anyway,I bought the 4-show version which was available at the store. I just feel a bit cheated. At least I have ALL of the T.A.M.I.
