The Rookie 4x16 Parallels

Episodes included 3x07, 3x01,
1-Grumpy & Sunshine (a parallel of Chenford's opening in scene in both docs)- I love that Tim is so done the minute he sits down "is this gonna take long- can we get started", and Lucy being so cheerful as she does, I also love how their names are together in second one.
2-Lybarger (if you are interested in the origin of the Lybarger warning, here's an article-lat.ms/3woY6Qw ), also Nolan has been swapping roles lately.
3- Tim find more out about Lucy- I had a hard time titling this but, it's nice to see when Tim learns more little funny tidbits about Lucy, lol
4-Tim & evocative soundbites- I noticed in 3x07 Tim was trying to get in his own "evocative soundbites", he didn't do very well, but at least he did better this time, he got a proud wifey moment from Lucy. (it might also go with parallel 7)
5-Lucy & social media- tik tok star to internet sleuth (that's actually a better title)
6-"Come on back" - Alexi saying these lines to Jackson and Aaron, lol
7-saying the right thing on camera- i really think the things they both said had to do with being in front of a camera, trying to impress, nervous, and brain doesn't work right, lol. (Tim wouldn't have said the teacher comment if he wasn't, tho the his sister being a teacher probably wasn't thought of during the writing of S3) I love that the roles were reversed here.
Some other parallels not included- Cop Eyes, a distraught father (Aaron's dad vs Debbie's dad), an overbearing mother (Corey's mom vs. Aaron's mom), the callback to Lucy's DOD tattoo. Also favorite Chenford moment I didn't include was when Tim had Lucy's back after her mean comment, but I didn't see a parallel there. I almost put at the end, but I loved Aaron's quote!

I love when he says "Why are you so happy?" It just really seems like something you'd say, the WAY he said it, only to someone you're close enough to both be annoyed by but still love them sooo much in that annoying moment. Lol

I think that the showrunners will make a joke out of chenford ship. Here is why. I think they will put comments under True Crime videos something like "Officer Chen and Sergeant Bradford are a cute couple" and in the next episode they are going to laugh it up

No they wouldn’t. The Rookie timeline is a mess. 😂 However, the timeline for s1 was supposed to be their first 6 months and then S2 was 6 more months, episodes 1-9 in season 3 was a month. Jackson and Lucy ended their rookie year in 309, while Nolan had to extend a month, which ended at the end of S3/beginning of S4.

@emilynthephoto Well, it's actually not that deep. The first 3 seasons are Nolan's probationary period (12+1 months). Since S4 every season is 1 year. Reference it with Lucy's age. She is 28 at the start of the show. She is 29 in the S4 Halloween episode. Therefore she is 30 in the S5 Halloween episode.
