The Ebony Gold, it looks like they were going for something like the ebony is the wrapping paper and it’s only been partially torn off… honestly I’d prefer the line between the two colors to be clean.

I predict that sometime in the future-I don’t know when-players will start saying “Gibsons are for poseurs.” This will happen because a tipping point will be reached where collectors, doctors, and lawyers will be the only folks who can afford them, and that sort of dude does NOT gig at local pubs, and would choose the comforts of home over touring in a hard-working band. People who “buy” their coolness, purchase their “pretty,” and don’t know how to play: people who don’t know how to fight back against 60-cycle hum, don’t know how to communicate with the house’s sound guy… guys who play “Wish You Were Here” and “WonderWall”… these types are poseurs. I don’t think Gibson realizes that they’re killing the Goose that Lays Golden Eggs. They have a reputation and brand-association over a century old, and this will be ruined when the ratio of players-to-poseurs shifts.

That “dragon” firebird was cool, except for the fact that the scales are pointing up instead of down. Also, I have had a Songwriter Deluxe EC since 2008 and whenever I see those Dave Mustaine versions with the 24 fret fingerboard and the soundhole moved further down toward the bridge, it just looks SO wrong to me.🤷‍♂️

The demo and mod shop was more fun during the first year or so when they offered more USA models that were at or below the regular price. Seems like now the premiums have gotten astronomical and the majority of releases are custom shops. The market is the market but it’s still disappointing. Also, too many sparkle and metallic finishes!

Where the nut meets the headstock on that gold Jr. The orange lava one 6:48 the paint is all ran and huge drip all along the edge. Mangled the nut at 9:11 I dont remember where i seen the mangled looking neck joint but remember it.. these are like the junk ones rejected by QC and they must send them to the local high school for the kids to practice painting... they are horrid, un-artistic, and I dont see any worth more than $500.
