its the kind of visual gag that works very well (maybe even the BEST) in a show like this, one with a small cast and people playing multiple parts. so even if you expect that the dead character is going to come back, you keep looking at their actor wondering 'is THIS that characters new disguise?'

Everybody talks about the "Et tu, Deadliest Man Alive" when "Stabbed in the back, literally" is even a better historical reference. After one of the World Wars (I don't remember which one) Germany set up the legend that they lost only because some people of their military didn't obey the commands and they lost the war only because of these traitors and not because of the other countries, and were therefore stabbed in the back, and not killed from the front. That legend is called the Dolchstosslegende (dagger-stab-legend). The Deadliest Man Alive even killed the Nazi with a dagger. I love these details!
