Or, in my case, the doctor told me, "It isn't severe enough to warrant treatment." So, I'm not worth treating until I'm at end-stage thyroid collapse? Gee, thanks, doc! I found a functional medicine doctor.

Another bit of advice: Doctors are not educated and trained in diagnosing psychiatric issues. For some reason, they are allowed to set diagnoses and, from what I've seen, without even doing a proper assessment. If your doctor tells you you have a psychiatric diagnosis, ask him which assessment tools he used. Call his bluff. Ask that the diagnosis be removed from your records. If this doesn't happen, get tough and file a report against the doctor. They can't use "gut feeling" to tell you you're depressed, or malingering, or a hypochondriac; psychiatry is not their field, and only a psychiatrist or licensed psychologist has the qualifications to set psychiatric diagnoses, including depression.

I was first diagnosed hypothyroid in 2010. I followed Dr. Wentz in 2014 and learned so much from her, for which I am so grateful, I also bought her book. The doctors did not listen to me all these years… however, it accidentally came up on their radar that my thyroid levels were hyper last year, and they finally saw that I have autoimmune thyroid. All these years I had also complained of extreme stomach and muscle and joint pains and migraines and of course fatigue. Of all of this, they just thought to send me to a group therapy and diagnosed me falsely with BPD. Eventually, after a decade, it has turned out i have endometriosis, two ovarian cysts, ehlers danlos syndrome and postural orthostatic tachycardia and leaky heart valve with fibrillations.

I used to be the smartest kid in my family and my class all through out my school, in contrary I barely passed my university degree. Starting my late teens, I was always sleepy and cold, always sad and irritable. Concentration and memory problems were omg my daily struggle. I used to open or close a file in my computer and forget why I did that. I used to forget my words so I chose to be quite al the time because I constantly embarrassed myself forgetting what I was saying. Always sad, nothing and no one was making me happy. Sleeplessness and thoughts of suicide was a common factor. Anytime I brought up the topic of how I feel bad, my mom would tell me don't act victims, you are lazy because you don't care, I hate to say I thought that was the case that I was become lazy. Other symptoms I started having was hair loss and loss of eyebrows, puffy face, and putting on so much weight, I felt so ugly and in school I was being bullied because of those things. Although I suffer from most of those things still, 10 years later, knowing that I have had Hashimoto Thyroids and autoimmune liver disease at least I know its not in my head. I wish I had access to a good doctor like Izabella

"Maybe it's my thyroid." **doc palpates my throat and tells me I'm fine** "Doc, maybe you could do a blood test." **doc sends me to the lab** "Here are your test results. I don't know what TSH 14 means, but you're fine." Over 80% of doctors in Sweden pretty much don't read in their field after graduating med school, so this sort of conversation is the norm (and yes, it really happened). Most diagnoses are done by gut feeling here. How I wish I could move to the US; at least there's a good chance of finding a good doctor, who ask questions (not done in Sweden) and if he doesn't understan test results, he finds a way to figure them out (too much work for a Swede). The problem is, I need to sleep too much to go to the US. At least I know my thyroid is fine, because my doctor told me it is.🙄

MARK: Please do a video on PTSD for combat veterans. I'm watching Soft White Underbelly's video, War Veteran Interview-Nick (Part 1) and can't help but think that proper nutrition and vitamins and minerals are essential to these men -- that psychological damage is only part of the problem, and that psychological help is only part of the cure. They all describe ongoing fear, then the Big One, that earns them the one medal no one wants: PTSD. Constant stress and crummy food must damage everything involved in stress. The Big One must be like a big fireball that zips through the "stress system" and burns it out. It sounds like what happens in some autoimmune disorders, if at another magnitude. Thanks!

@@mySeaPrince_ I'm hoping Dr. Hyman does a video on what goes on in the body that causes PTSD, what the inside of the body of someone with PTSD looks like, and how to help repair it. I see some similarities with autoimmune disorders, and picture many of these men, combat veterans like the one I mentioned above, with burned out wiring systems. What nutrients will repair these systems? This is what I'm hoping Dr. Mark Hyman will cover. Finding the proper supplements can surely help heal PTSD faster than psychological help alone. In fact, supplement packs should be given out to deployed men with their meals. Once home from combat, they should be issued a years' worth of supplements. Those with PTSD should get immediate psychological help, and special supplements -- whatever the Doc Hyman suggests.

I started getting anxiety, pain throughout my body, and sweaty when I woke up. Lab test said that although I was hypo I was now hyperthyroid. Dr cut med from 45 to 30 and next lab from 30mg to 15. 15mg is too small and isn't made so I had to cut the 30 in half. I am still taking Black Seed Oil 2 x morn and night 3/4 teasp . I go for next lab Sep 5th and will see if I need that 15mg desiccated thyroid med. My blood pressure is now normal and my prediabetes went from 6+ to 5. My Dr doesn't believe in anything natural. My kidneys have gotten better numbers on the last few lab tests and I told my dr I did it with veggies and very LITTLE meat. He said no that wouldn't do it. I wonder if the BSO helped with that too? I never forget to take it. By these results I think it's too bad Drs don't tell their patients to take it, but know they'd be up $hit creek if they did that. Oh yes my hair is thicker

I’ve had Graves’ disease through my thirties and forties then it reversed to Hashimoto thyroiditis in my late forties.I also have fibromyalgia, insomnia, coeliac disease, and ibs which was diagnosed not long ago, I’m now in my 60’s. I gave up on any hope years ago of endocrinologists being helpful, I gave up on general doctors being helpful. I’ve also not had any joy with naturopathic practitioners or functional medicine doctors not to mention the fact that the later are cost prohibitive. I have become my own doctor, I research and trial different foods and supplements and take whatever I believe will be beneficial. I take thyroxine and I know without this medication my thyroid function will NOT be cured it will just cause worse symptoms that my thyroid condition causes because I’ve tried it several times and end up very I’ll. It’s true that many symptoms of thyroid disease continue to be present symptoms regardless of taking thyroxine but without thyroxine it would become a chronic case of Hashimoto and possibly fatal. I changed my life five years ago I became vegetarian, then introduced plants, nuts and some seeds, no gluten, no dairy and very little processed foods. Mostly I eat food I’ve prepared from scratch, my own nut milks, gf bread and recipes that I enjoy. I don’t think not eating meat or fish is a serious loss to me and I also don’t believe a paleo diet is necessarily a good or bad diet. I introduced these food choices and changes to feel better and loose weight, I also have elevated leptin which obviously developed from Graves’ disease which caused me to develop a yo yo eating pattern and was only revealed a year ago. My weight gain was slow due to thyroid disease and metabolic issues that weren’t revealed in any blood tests. If one doctor had taken the time to explain I had elevated leptin and what would benefit me in order to maintain a healthier body, loose weight and feel better then my life would have been transformed years ago. My weight loss has been slow after five years I’ve lost 13 kilos and reduced my cholesterol. My chronic pain and fatigue are also reduced I exercise everyday, qigong, yoga, Pilates, weights, hiit, lots of classes and walk. It was small steps at first and gradual improvement and changes. I also meditate and practise breathing and mindfulness. It’s never too late to change and part of change has to be an open mind and acceptance. If you can cure Hashimoto thyroid disease then you’re very fortunate for me I accept my health imbalances and focus on getting balance with my lifestyle protocols. Thank you for sharing your story my story is different as we are all different and one size does not fit all.

In this article, I’ll be sharing the truth about a range of skin conditions, from eczema and psoriasis to keratosis pilaris and others. Some of these skin conditions, such as eczema, are considered to be autoimmune conditions. Before I share more about skin conditions and how celery juice can help, it’s first critical to understand that the autoimmune theory that suggests the body attacks itself is inherently flawed. The truth is that your body never attacks itself. It’s always working for you and loves you unconditionally. There is a real reason for your symptoms and conditions and it’s vitally important to know what that is and why so many health conditions are said to be autoimmune today. I provide a full explanation of what I call the “autoimmune confusion” in Medical Medium Celery Juice: The Most Powerful Medicine of Our Time Healing Millions Worldwide and also check out Medical Medium Thyroid Healing: The Truth behind Hashimoto's, Graves', Insomnia, Hypothyroidism, Thyroid Nodules & Epstein-Barr. The real cause of skin conditions that are labelled as autoimmune is a cocktail of viruses and heavy metals that can be found in your liver. What does this have to do with your skin? Everything. Eczema and Psoriasis Put simply, most skin conditions are caused by viruses in the body. Eczema and psoriasis, for example, are the result of a low-grade herpetic viral infection inside the liver. As I share in Medical Medium Celery Juice, “Most commonly, that virus is Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). When the virus feeds off toxic copper and mercury that are also in the liver and then excretes them, that copper turns into a dermatoxin. These dermatoxins build up and exit the liver, eventually finding their way to the lower levels of the dermis. Once there, the body tries to detox them by pushing the dermatoxins up through the skin. This can lead to almost 100 varieties of rashes that are deemed to be eczema or psoriasis or are given different names. In none of these cases is the immune system attacking the skin. That’s an inaccurate explanation that comes out of misunderstanding how eczema and psoriasis really work.” Medical research and science are unaware that this is the true cause of these skin conditions. It’s not difficult to have a build up of toxic heavy metals in your body for viruses to feed on. Copper, which is partly responsible for skin conditions like eczema, can be passed down through your family line or you can be exposed to it in daily life. Copper pots and pans in restaurants that have been scraped and overused are a common source. So too are copper pipes. Pesticides are another source of toxic copper that build up in the liver from years of eating conventional food products and being exposed to pesticides used on your garden or nearby farms. Mercury is another part of the equation when it comes to psoriasis. Rosacea and Actinic Keratosis Rosacea is a particular form of eczema that can appear in many forms on the face and neck. Actinic keratosis is another form of eczema. People with more advanced, aggressive cases of eczema and psoriasis usually have a higher toxic heavy metal load and viral load inside the liver. It’s critical to start removing the toxic heavy metals from your body by including the five foods for safe and effective heavy metal detox daily: cilantro, wild blueberries, barley grass juice powder, spirulina, and Atlantic dulse. A convenient way to have these foods daily is in the Medical Medium Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie. Vitiligo Medical research and science are unaware that vitiligo is caused by a virus such as HHV-6 or EBV feeding on aluminum and traces of formaldehyde in the liver and elsewhere in the body, releasing an aluminum-based dermatoxin that, when it enters the skin, destroys the melanin pigments inside skin cells. This is what leads to the white spots and other discolorations that occur for someone living with vitiligo. It is not the skin’s immune system attacking the skin pigment. It is a real illness with a real cause. Aluminum byproduct can float around the bloodstream, waiting to interact with an underlying viral infection, due to something as seemingly minor as your last fluoride treatment at your dentist office (fluoride is an aluminium byproduct). Eventually, science and research will catch on to the effects of viruses and heavy metals on the skin but for now this information is unknown. Lupus-Style Rashes This type of rash is caused by EBV feeding off mercury and aluminum, creating a dermatoxin that surfaces to the skin in areas where important lymphatic highways reside. It’s why butterfly-shaped rashes can appear on the face, along with other forms of rashes that can land somebody a diagnosis of lupus. Once again, this is not the body attacking itself. It is a low-grade viral infection. Many people with lupus also get diagnosed separately with EBV because the doctor sees EBV come through in a blood test. Usually, they still won’t associate the virus with the lupus-style rashes. If a lupus patient visits a Lyme doctor, they may end up with a Lyme diagnosis as well-still not realizing that it all traces back to the same source: EBV. For more on skin conditions and how to heal, you can read Medical Medium Celery Juice and also Medical Medium Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune Disease. Celery Juice and the Skin Drinking celery juice can help heal each of these skin conditions and a multitude of others, including acne, prematurely aging skin, and dehydrated skin. Celery juice works such wonders on the skin for three primary reasons: coumarins, vitamin C, and sodium cluster salts. Coumarins from celery juice travel to the top of the skin and reinvigorate skin cells from the inside out. This results in less skin cell death, less deterioration, and it supports nerves and blood flow. Many people are getting facials or visiting the sauna for the results they could see if celery juice was consistently consumed daily in the way I recommend in Medical Medium Celery Juice. The vitamin C in celery juice is unique from that found in other foods. This special form restores the liver’s immune system, increasing its capacity to fight off viruses and bacteria. Science and research know that there are white blood cells in the liver, but what they don’t know is that there are six different types of immune cells specific to the liver. For more information on this, take a look at Liver Rescue. You may take vitamin C supplements and that is important, but the vitamin C found in celery juice is different in that it doesn’t need to be converted. I’m not saying that supplements aren’t beneficial, because high-quality supplements of the right kind absolutely are, but celery juice offers this unique vitamin C that is part of the reason so many people around the globe are healing by drinking straight celery juice every day. Sodium cluster salts are a natural subgroup of sodium that is found in celery. Research and science are still unaware of these cluster salts and how they help the body heal. These sodium cluster salts act as a poison to viruses and bacteria while remaining completely nontoxic and healing to your body. Celery juice also disarms the destructive charge of toxic heavy metals inside the body and helps the liver-where the toxins and pathogens responsible for skin conditions reside-to heal. I cover all of these healing properties of celery juice in great depth in Medical Medium Celery Juice. As celery juice kills off the underlying viruses behind so many skin conditions and heals your body in the other ways mentioned and more, over time you will see your skin improve. I always recommend also bringing in the other healing guidance I include in the Medical Medium books, such as Medical Medium Celery Juice and Liver Rescue, along with celery juice, in order to heal. Celery juice is a powerful tool, but it takes more than one 16-ounce glass. It also takes cutting out certain foods, such as eggs, dairy products, pork, gluten, canola oil, soy, and fried foods. I share the foods to avoid and the foods to emphasize and why in Liver Rescue. For those with more severe cases of eczema, drinking celery juice may appear to cause some initial symptomatic reactions. The reason for this is that in severe cases, the person will have a higher viral load and build-up of toxic heavy metals in the liver. When you first start drinking celery juice, then, the byproducts of this viral load feeding on the metals-the dermatoxins-get pushed out through the skin. It’s important to know that it isn’t the celery juice making your symptoms worse; the celery juice is effectively killing off the virus and detoxifying the dermatoxins. The truth is that eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions can absolutely be healed. If you’ve been told you will have to live with it forever or that it’s genetic or autoimmune, you can now find peace in knowing this isn’t true. You can heal; it just takes understanding the true cause and taking the steps necessary to address it. For some, skin conditions improve rapidly. For others, it can take some time. Have patience and keep persisting. Read the Medical Medium books and apply what you learn so you have the tools and information you need to heal. Also check out Medical Medium Instagram where we repost people’s stories of healing eczema, psoriasis and all kinds of other skin conditions. You will find so much inspiration, hope and support with the Medical Medium community there. Healing is possible for you. I am with you and I support you.

How about post covid urticaria? It’s only getting worse for me.. I am on immunosuppressants right now ..

@@ridhimaagarwal6142 urticaria is a symptom of autoimmune condition / sensitivity.... it is worth trying alternative methods instead of meds.... which evidently are just masking the symptoms and not addressing the ROOT cause... I would take health in my own hands and research alternative methods... some people do well and eliminate autoimmune reactions by switching to CARNIVORE diet... which involves cutting out carbs altogether .... this is an elimination diet approach which --- I strongly feel --- will work for you... after you heal, you may reintroduce some of the foods back into out diet....no creams, no pharmaceuticals will help.... they will just mask the issue for a while...

this is just horrible horrible advice. wow. I mean this lady just throws the entire kitchen sink at the problem doesn't she? LOL at "the root cause of the problem" let's take selenium, and zinc, lomatium, vitamin B, C, D, E, F, G, viruses, bacteria, something something, brain fog, and gut problems, attacking the immune system, HASHIMOTOS, HASHIMOTOS, HASHIMOTOS version 1 2 and 3, attacking the brain, NEUROLOGICAL ISSUES. it's complicated, but it's easy actually, THE ROOT CAUSE. ALLERGIES. SENSITIVITIES. RED MEAT, VEGGIES. CARNITINE DEFICIENCY. BONE BROTH WORKS. smooooothies. GUT LINING. AUTOIMMUNE CONDITIONS. POWER FOODS. GREEN SMOOTHY. inflammation. ENZYMES DEFICIENCY. GLUTEN DAIRY AND SOY. anything else I am missing?

I’ll make it simple: eat high quality meat, especially beef (rare) for B vitamins, zinc, selenium, iron, etc., organs (tons of nutrients), remove plants even, because some have bloating with them, eat sardines or other fish for omega 3’s, or take Rositas cod liver oil, some can eat raw egg yolks without issues, and then see how you will heal. I don’t do well with bone broth or green juice, so leave it out as necessary. Leave out gluten, grains, dairy (unless you can tolerate raw dairy), soy, grains, she is right! Take control and you will feel great.
