I have been working with my 8 year old, trying to get rid of that darn bat drag. He is getting very frustrated and every time he looks at the video of himself, he gets more and more upset because he “feels like a failure”, his words. It breaks my heart working tirelessly trying to get him in the correct hitting position only for him to be down on himself afterwards. I love your approach towards the mental approach of the kids and I am definitely going to give this a try. Thanks so much for the video.

Ron is right in saying it's an approach problem not a sequencing problem. Most hitters that have this problem naturally just fell into this. Ask your hitter, what should hitting be? How to hit a baseball? They'll tell you they don't know why they swing the way they do. So you have to plant an idea of the perfect swing in order for them to change their approach.

@@gp381 no doubt...it is why I love the approach. A deeper understanding of any subject allows you to self-analyze more critically and adjust. I can’t wait for my little guy to get home from school so I can show him the video and work the high inside tee drill.

Good Vid! I lot of good points. I love the clock analogy and the heavy bag. I'm just annoyed that I had a nearly identical bottom supported bag and gave it away because moved to hanging bag :( I'll rig something else up for my players. Keep up the great work.

So I am sitting at my facility and being caught up on paper work and videos...sort of, I cam across my favorite hitting guy. Ok, as always, great video kid. Oh, did I mention I am stealing/borrowing that phrase "beginner patterns". I was almost there with beginner flaws, but beginner patterns is much better in describing the issue. Cheers my friend. I will be driving in your area in August. I'll give you a holler...at least 9 holes this trip!
