Ninh explains the Rules of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. To my many fans, I appreciate the suggestions and I'm sorry it took a while to make. But I got there in the end. Be sure to help me out by sharing this video where you can :) EDIT: Minor oversight - BJJ is derived from Judo, which itself is derived from Ju Jitsu. There are some seriously whiny bitches out there who really should calm the hell down.

As a former BJJ practitioner I agree. Did for a few years until i hurt my neck (strained it badly during no-gi takedown practice). Tried it afterwards but did not feel confident and was semi-afraid that I might hurt my neck more. Still lose feeling on my arm if sleep on a awkwardly and have some bad neck jams from time to time. Looking back I did way less stretching that I should have done and in my gym we only trained in the sport for a hour and a half and that was it(warmup,technique and spar) . Should have done with my body and strengthen my neck. Not just train...

Very well explained. I was practicing jujitsu for about a year and a half, and I definitely miss it now that I've moved and now all the dojos are closed. I quit going for a while because I let a relationship and work take control of my life and free time. That was a mistake, because after I took that brief hiatus, it was very hard to get back into the swing of things.

@@NinhLyUK I found BJJ in a time when I was struggling to have purpose and meaning in my life. I was working just enough to cover basic expenses, and I had just switched programs at my university, and had to take classes that were very easy and required minimal effort. That's when I met a husband and wife bjj owners, because they came into my work one day and I asked to start going to their school. After a few months of going, I suddenly start going less frequently and eventually decided to take a hiatus. I had quit to make more time for my new girlfriend (who wasn't too interested in going), and I was also picking up more hours at my job. Not only that, but the lessons were becoming very expensive. After a couple months months off, I tried multiple times to get back into it, but I struggled to stay committed. Now that I have a better income, and a relatively more consistent work schedule, I hope to start going again.

I personally find it a trevestie, that a reverse from side control, doesn't count as a sweep. I mean, I get that a sweep hast to be started from a guard position, yet, if I reverse from side control, I massively improve my position and advance from defense to offense. Should be 2 points as well.

I like this video but it need couple more thinks. 1) Heel lock should be explained more detailed, because it's a huge problem and comes with lot's of misconception and repetitive reason for DQ. 2) BJJ is root from Judo, not Jiu Jitsu, Jiu Jitsu in name is come from the similar competitive system with scores, basically BJJ is a major tweaking of Judo ground combat. And Judo have root's in Japanese JJ. But difference in JJ and BJJ is huge and can be noticeable immediately. 3) 3:24 it's Anaconda choke, while RNC comes neatly around neck.

Why doesn't pulling guard score your opponent a takedown?
@NinhLyUK

It probably doesn't. Guard itself isn't a scoring technique.

Judo ... which is derived from Ju Jitsu.
@adamclark1972uk
@adamclark1972uk 5 жыл бұрын
@@NinhLyUK Yes (well, ju jutsu, not jitsu, I digress), but BJJ is derived from judo. You're misrepresenting history by saying it is derived from jujutsu without crediting judo. It was judokas who brought it to Brazil. Jigoro Kano saved the old samurai arts from oblivion. If there were no judo, there'd be no BJJ. Give credit where it's actually due. Apart from that, good vid. Very interesting.
