A lot of you are probably wondering .. the XFL went bankrupt weeks ago - what was the point in making this? The answer - BECAUSE I CAN. Just for kicks, so that people in the far future will be like ... "How did they play that game again?" For all intents and purposes - it wasn't actually all that bad. I kinda liked it. I can't believe the new XFL - which was a hit - didn't even last as long as the old XFL - which was a total failure. All that backing, all that hype, all that buildup, and that's how it ends. I guess there is a little bit of hope to be had. The old XFL gave us the sky-cam. Maybe some of the rules from the new XFL will be incorporated into the official rule book of the game, and its legacy will live on.

Update for the 2023 season: *Teams can now stop the clock three times per half instead of two. *Each team’s coach is also allowed to challenge one call on the field at any point in the game, provided that team has a timeout available. **If the challenge is successful, the team is not charged a timeout and can use his challenge again so long as they have a timeout on hand. **If it’s unsuccessful, a timeout is wasted, and the team can no longer use their challenge for the rest of the game. **The challenge can also be used to review if there were any penalties that the referees on the field didn’t see during the play. *The amount of overtime rounds is reduced from five to three.

I felt really sorry for the lads at the XFL for a myriad of reasons. Coupled with the AFL going under after years of mismanagement and the uncertainty with other leagues, it's likely that a gridiron hopeful will only have the CFL (and maybe that one arena league the Iowa Barnstomers ended at, assuming that doesn't die off too) as an option *on top* of losing their jobs. To not end this in a somber mood, did you ever do a video on Futvolêi? It's volleyball but you play with your limbs at all times except for the hands. Romário (from the 94 WC) played it quite a lot IIRC.

@@NinhLyUK yes it is. google WATL and you will see their website. The World Axe Throwing League or WATL has been around since 2017. Their also is the IATF or NATF. I do not know much about that organization because the axe throwing place I go to only throws WATL competitions.

So here's some suggestions: USFL 1983-1985, World Football League 1974-1975, XFL 2001, and NFL Europe 1991-2007. You don't have to necessarily give out the rules for these defunct leagues but just a brief history of them. If that's your thing then that's ok.

I'm a life-long NFL fan (WHO DEY!), but I loved the XFL's rule changes for clock management, kickoffs, and point-after conversions. The double forward pass was a nice addition as a means to prevent the "was that a lateral or a pass?" on a trick play like a wide receive screen pass (where the quarterback will immediately throw the ball backwards to a wide receiver behind the line of scrimmage who will then throw the ball to another receiver down the field). I'm kinda sad that the XFL folded because it looked promising, unlike every other league who tried to play pro football in the spring (the USFL in the 1980s [though Donald Trump, who owned the New Jersey Generals at the time, moved the league to the fall to compete directly with the NFL and gave the USFL a very quick and painful death], the XFL in 2001, and the AAF in 2019). I was hoping it would have served as a developmental league for the NFL, similar to the NBA D-league, and the various minor leagues of the NHL and MLB. I'm hoping the NFL will adopt the new kickoff rules because kickoffs are the most dangerous plays, and they're mostly boring. But, to quote Jon Bois of SB Nation, "That makes perfect sense, SO NO!"

The Bengals have drafted either all-pros (Ken Anderson, Boomer Esiason, Carson Palmer, Andy Dalton) or total duds (David Klingler, Akili Smith) as big prospect QBs. I've only seen a few games of xfl football, but it is a shame they went bankrupt (I'm honestly just now hearing about this). The biggest example of a redundant aspect of American football is the extra point for a kick after a touchdown. Let's be real, 95% of the time it is a successful try. The 2 point option is almost never used unless its the end of the game. The extra point option in xfl makes it more interesting to watch at the end

I didn't know that forward passes were limited in NFL at all. Is more than one pass in NFL or two in XFL still allowed if (let's say) the first pass is made before the line of scrimmage? At the moment of writing this post I'm watching an XFL match on the Dutch adaptation ESPN, finding out that there may be some major differences from what this video is showing, but that may be because of the time passed between this video and the match I'm watching. It looks like the field has become less wide and that the endzones are a little less wide as well. I don't know if that's really the case, though.

You can only do 1 forward pass in the NFL. BUT if the quarterback passes the ball backwards or sideways BUT not forward the player who haves the ball can throw it forward behind the line of scrimmage.

THW GLOVES HELP STOP SWELLING IF THE HAND BUT IF YOU HAD TO TO MAKE THE BALLS INSIDE LINING A LITTLE HARDER BY THREADING IT THENNIT WOULD BE MORE INTERESTING FOR THE GLOVE WEARERS IF NOT THOSE WHO WEAR 2 ON EACH HAND. ALSO THR KUND OF OUTER RUBBER TRACTION CREATING AN EVEN MORE INTERESTING BOUNCE? VERY COOL GAME. Even more interesting is buying the mini raquet ball. Buying gloves will definately be a plus.
