I saw the Runaways back in 1977 when I was 15 years old. A friend told me there was this “all-girl” rock band coming to town so I just had to check them out. I loved the movie about The Runaways. Kristen Stewart absolutely nailed Joan Jett-who has very particular mannerisms. I agree, I was really disappointed when I found out Dakota had been chosen for the role, she did not have Cherie's kind of ghostly, ethereal beauty. I thought she had a hard look in the movie and really didn't look much like her, made it hard for me to watch. It's true though, that it would be hard to find anyone who really looked like Cherie, she definitely has an unusual look.

@@jessical6056 Good suggestion, Taylor might have been good with her hair made the same color as Cherie's. I think she would have been a better choice than Dakota definitely

No helicopter parenting. It's a generalization and I'm sure there were exceptions but it just seems they were more laid back in their parenting back in the day. Where were their parents when these 15 year old girls were running around with the likes of Foley?!

Exactly. All were troubled and vulnerable teens. Fowley was waiting.

Their manager could have helped them with their career simply by treating them the way he himself wanted to be treated, it's not Brainsurgery or rocketscience!!

Oh yeah, Fowley was an absolute creep. I have some stories from people who have worked with him in the past. He was a very strange man.

If the Go Go’s can go into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame there’s no reason The Runaways should not be in.

Totally agree. Everyone acts like they're the biggest all girl band. I'll take The Runaways everytime

Wow. I learned a lot. I didn't know that ALL of these girls were runaways.
