How you have to watch every snap to appreciate how hapless his offense can be and then amazing. How he can't connect with most players. How kind he is to the community. How obsessed he is with image and celebrity and Team 3. It's exhausting.

Even from afar (I'm a Lions fan) something has always seemed...off...with Russell Wilson. As you say I think it's the ego cloaked by piety. As a Hawks fan I can't disagree. His ability to evade sacks and turn a play into backyard football and his uncanny ability to pull of magical clutch throws in major situations was truly jaw dripping. The moment he gained weight and tried to be more of a pocket passer than a play action agile QB his play diminished a good amount 🤷. His weaknesses shined through while he didn't utilize his strengths nearly as much. His 10yrs in Seattle is HOF worthy play. Legendary plays in the dozens. But idk if that will be his legacy or the last couple years. I still think in the right situation and coach and he could give a team a good 3 maybe 4 years since he's taken care of his body and always slide instead of taking big hits... But he HAS to go away from trying to be a pocket passer like Peyton and use his legs to create those big plays!

I was so happy about the Russ trade that I bought my first Gamer, a Blue on Orange #3 to ware to the Monday Night Opener in Seattle. Four and a half hour drive each way for the game and all I got from that trip was quite literally Covid! I followed that up with my first trip to Denver to watch a game at Mile High this season. Road tripping over 1,200miles each way to watch what I figured was a Winnable game against the Commanders. If you thought Perna's reaction to the end of that game was over the top, let me tell you every fan in the stands was either too depressed to say a word or yelling at the refs louder than they had been cheering all game. Going to those two games cost me over $1000 in tickets, hotels, gas and an entire week out of work with Covid after blowing my PTO in the case of the Seattle game. If I ever go to a live Broncos game again it will a game later in the season when I know the team is actually competitive! I'm done paying for the Hype! i think looking at the trade for seattle short term is really silly. they won just as many playoff games in the years before the russ trade as they did after. with those picks they added a couple corner stones, namely charles cross and devon witherspoon with the early picks. they now have new players, more cap, and a new coach and are in the later stages of their mini rebuild. the next few years are the actual test to see how much they won the trade.

This is the best Biopic of Brandon “Will is better, funnier, sexier, and smarter than me” Perna I have ever seen. Love you Perna. I hate that the broncos have done this to you

You merely adopted the life of pulling for a bad team. For you, hope plays out over a few games. Gaze into the soul of a Dolphins fan and know real despair. For us, bad has been decades. For us, hope played out over years. It was drawn into exquisite perfection this year as it swelled to the unparalleled crescendo of a total collapse losing the division in the final game, and the first playoff game to become the franchise with the longest playoff drought despite having apparently every tool and good choice we could hope for. You merely adopted being a fan of a bad team. We were born in it, molded by it. Fins up. 🐬

I must have missed that clip of Elway going down the hallway on a scooter.

Fist bump from a lifetime hawks fan 🤜🏻 I feel like you understand us now… not that it’s a positive thing at all

Chiefs fan here. We had our QB's that didn't save us. Trent Green, Matt Cassel, and a few other bad ones in between. It's part of the rebuilding process. That dead money is going to hurt... but in 2 to 3 years, if the team does all the right things, you'll be back to being competitive in the West. Yes, I know you hate my team. I have no love lost for yours, especially since I've been a fan going back to around 1990. I watched my team die while yours got two different runs. But you're absolutely spot on. Fandom isn't a choice and even when your team breaks your heart and you scream that you're done, we come back to them like some kind of abused partner because at the end of the day, we love them and hope for better the next year. Okay, that was harsh, and I don't want to make light of spousal abuse, because that's not cool - but damn if it doesn't feel like that sometimes. We love our teams and we cheer for those who beat up on our rivals. But we also know that they will come back and surprise us again and give us something to look forward to, and we can't quit, ever.

They were competitive last year. But Sean Payton isn't a QB whisperer, he's a screamer.

As a Cardinals fan of 30 something years and a Browns fan of roughly 40 (born in cleveland but family moved me to phoenix when I was 13, don't live in either place but still support both teams, or at least the cardinals and browns when watson isn't starting) I just want to point out that Broncos fans have *checks notes* 3 super bowl wins and *checks notes* 8 super bowl appearances. This situation sucks, but broncos fans do not know real pain.

Love the Lynch references. Anyway, as a fan of the Chiefs, who brought in Joe Montana and Dave Krieg, you are lucky to have one Super Bowl win with a twilight quarterback (Peyton Manning). I know it is little solace now.

I get a lot of things wrong about football. But I thought Russell was clearly washed in Seattle. The trade, for me, was mind-boggling. I didn't think he was an NFL starter and the Broncos gave away the farm. Its difficult to accept, but the fact is that some teams are run by completely incompetent people. This is true in all aspects of society, where there are people in very high positions who have no business being there.

Russ is a good guy. I think he'll land on his feet and mounta comeback. He doesn't need to worry about money ever again.

As a Seahawks fan, I feel for you! I’m just happy other people finally realize he’s an egomaniac. We lost the LOB cuz none of them liked Russ and Pete

The Russell Wilson trade did not "destroy" the Broncos. Teams have QB situations all the time that don't pan out. I can name a dozen off the top of my head. The 49ers gave up three 1st round picks and a 3rd rounder for Trey Lance. Were they destroyed by that? No...they were in the Super Bowl last year.
