As a huge Star Wars nerd who loves the Clone Wars animated series, I think Mando and Grogu is sounding like a lot of pulpy fun. My expectations for it are for it to just be a good time. Personally, I'm way more stoked to go see it in the theater than I am the other announced theatrical projects other than Filoni's movie. Bring on the buff gladiator Hutts and cool bounty hunters!

The Superman thing is idiotic, I'm with John people are absolutely trying to find excuses to tear this film apart. THAT BEING SAID THOUGH, this film does have a funky look to it, it's certainly a stylistic choice...and if people don't like it they don't like it. They don't have to be an expert or pretend to be one to know that something isn't working for them. I'm not a writer but I know bad writing when I see it. I was one of those people that thought the first teaser to the teaser looked a bit "TV" and I wasn't jumping on a bandwagon or wanna tear down the movie, just my opinion.

The one thing I remember the Russos saying shortly after Endgame and the Fox purchase is the one franchise they really wanted to work with is the X-Men. I think they will definitely set the tone by directing the first one, establish those characters, and then back end with Directing Avengers vs X-Men. To me that is how you do it and I think that is likely how it works in a 3-5 year phase you can make your own.

I wanted to see what was going to happen in a in depth exploration of a new Sith's training, I wanted to see if Vernestra, the Jedi and the Senate were headed for a power struggle, I wanted to see what the fallout of what we saw in s1 and the death of so many Jedi to a "mystery" (as far as the Jedi are concerned), was Vernestra Qimir's Jedi master? What was the fallout going to be of Mae having her memory wiped and what would have happened when/if she found out that the Jedi mindwiped her (a very Revan-esque scenario). This may raise Rocha's hackles as a TOSer, but Star Trek The Next Generation is considered *the* gold standard of Star Trek, but it would have never gotten past the first much less a second season in today's climate.

It's a commonly mistaken that vampires = bats and warewolves = wolves and commonly unknown that classic vampire stories have them turning into wolves. Traditionally, vampires can turn into the normal quadrupedal animal wolf, warewolves are bipedal humanoid wolves.

Vogel didn’t talk about poisoning the well when he trashed Zack Snyder film. Some people just don’t like the aesthetic of this James Gunn film. Let’s not act like the way a film looks doesn’t take people out of it. From the cast to the tea the film doesn’t excite me and these are the characters I want to see most on the big screen. DC fandom is fractured because some want a more realistic take and some want the Marvel approach. I thought it was great when they both were offering something different.

Regarding The Mandalorian and Grogu, I personally am not going to have a problem with the rumoured plot elements if they are really well executed, but im really worried if general audiences will and will react badly. I think this is the first time ever a major franchise has had a TV > Movie installment built upon whats come before. Add to that the backstory us fans know about Rotta etc. but others wont. I love Star Wars because it has lore and canon, but im starting to think that we have to accept there are limitations on what its reasonable to expect the audience to know.

Entourage lol.
@ludwigvanbeethoven844820 сағат бұрын
@@josephweeks3786 Do you mean as a TV > Film? That, like many other TV show examples, I discounted from what I'm saying by defintion. It wasn't part on an "ongoing" multimedia major franchise. As popular as any sitcom or serialised TV show is, they are not like IP franchises. Major franchises I'm thinking Star Wars, Harry Potter, DC, MCU, Lord of the Rings etc, things that have their own lore. The Mandalorian and Grogu film is just meant to be another installment in their story, not the conclusion of the Mandoverse. Besides which it was a $50m dollar box office. Thats not even in the same ball park as what a Star Wars film gets, even the lowest performing film to date. One example I did think of after I wrote my comment was The X Files, but im not a fan of the show and have not seen the film so I can't say how 'independent' for want of a better word the film is from the TV show itself and how important it would be to be abreast of the latest developments in the show to know the set up going into the film. So I still think this is unique for a property of this type.

I, unfortunately, have to disagree with the notion that the X-Men films are better when a minority is handling them. Regretfully, as a gay person, I think Matthew Vaughn and James Mangold, two straight white men, have produced the two best X-Men related films to this point. Admittedly, I dislike the OG trilogy and DoFP more than the average bear, but I think most everyone sees Logan as the crown jewel of the X-Films.

There will be a day when there aren’t as many Marvel, DC, Star Wars shows/movies and fandom will regret using so much of its time to bicker, nitpick and auto-hate so much. They’ll be like Magneto and Charles in DoFP “all that time wasted fighting each other…” People need real hobbies. Things that get them to interact with others in person. This chronically online era is not helping anyone. Channing’s Gambit was stiff with little going on in his facial expressions. I hope to not see him again. Recast away. Storm should be the same age as the core team. I think people think of her as being older because of that old lady voice she has in the cartoon, but I don’t want “mother of the team” Storm. Unsure how I feel about the Russos overseeing X-men. Also Sam as Cap America is a cool sight I love him having the shield and the wings. Hope his film is as cool as his look.

To me it's still a sign that it has nothing to do with the show itself and more about streaming originals in general. If the 2nd lowest viewed Star Wars show is the 2nd highest viewed show of the year on it's platform, that means year over year show over show views are down, and comparisons aren't really worth anything.

I knew the Superman discourse was rubbish when after Gunn confirmed Superman’s face wasn’t CGI but just a shot they liked with their lens, people automatically shifted from VFX experts to Cinematography experts. What a nothing burger, you would’ve thought Superman did a “Roman Salute” the way the internet reacted.
