I agree with Craig about the cost/value of the Flag Pole Buddy. They should at least make the brackets out of aluminum and place a rubber pad on the inside of the bracket to keep the flag pole sturdy and from rattling in the wind. I get the plastic but agree with it being in the elements they won't last too long.

Good idea on the full pipe replacement....that's exactly what you should have done! I always keep a small assortment of the pex fittings, crimp bands and pipe on my RV....but I cheat and use a 18v ryobi crimper tool - easier in tight places most of the time (but also have short handled hand crimp in case)...the pole is GREAT idea for the starlink! but agree...aluminum fittings would be better...I have always told people wanting to RV LEARN TO WORK ON THEM YOURSELVES!!!! You are MY kind of people! LOLLLLL Great job!!! and its prob not a bad idea to get yourselves a swivel head rivet gun with assorted rivets/backing washers..they always come in handy...especially tri fold rivets/exploding head rivets.....you will find places to use them!!!

Just subscribed and ahve already enjoyed a couple of videos. Keep doing the great work. Just wanted to share with you an inverter generator produces clean smooth electrical wave that won't harm sensitive electronics. They are the only kind of generator you should use for a RV. 2nd and please correct me if I'm wrong, I noticed tat you had a lithium battery and a regular lead acid battery hooked up together, You should probably not be doing that as the 2 batteries are very different in how they operate. For instance a lead acid 100 AH battery should never be discharged more then 50%, where as a lithium battery can be discharged totally and recharged without damage. They also have very different charging needs. A lead acid battery requires multiple phase charging, where as lithium only requires 2 fast charge till almost full then maintenance mode. Hope this helps. Good luck on the rest of your trip.
@wildrvlife Жыл бұрын
Yes, we have an inverter generator and love it! And thank you for the battery tip! Definitely a newbie mistake we made a while back (that was an old video and actually someone let us know right away and we removed the lead acid battery later that day). Now, we just have 3 of the 100ah lithium batteries for our battery bank. Thank you so much!

If this is going to be a long term living in your rv maybe consider building or having a custom r.v. built that will last and not fall apart every week like the p.o.s. you have now . I built one on a 1978 ford 700 cab & chassis built 30' box with 2 slide outs 1/2 plywood interior threwout 0.80 siding sreel frame upper water tank weight 20'000 dry weight built like a brick shit house and 42 years old and still on the road every year never breaks down never leaks ya it's a big truck but no payments and bulletproof.

Sorry, I pushed the wrong key on my computer. What i meant to say is that the crossing at Lukeville is maned by a single person in a small shack. No lines, it's hassle free. Just a little thing we learned from a relative that used to live in Casa Grande. Coming back into the states is real easy if you come back this way. Hope that might help you in the future.

How disappointing your having an issue with vroom, their supposed to be so much better than schwinteck. I can’t believe they used rivets as opposed to screws. I was considering having them replace my schwinteck, but too $$$. Best of luck guys!
@wildrvlife Жыл бұрын
We’re still very happy with Vroom. The system is MUCH better than Schwintek and their customer support has been better than we could ask for. The only issue was that wire pulled out of a motor (and it just happened to be the worst wire for it to be which prevented us from being able to override the slide with the controller), which just kind of happens sometimes with all the moving, etc. And rivets are actually better than screws when it comes to holding up and lasting longer, so I can understand why they used them. Better in the long run, we just didn’t have the tool 😅
@bigjake6254 Жыл бұрын

how old is that RV?
@jstar1000 Жыл бұрын
I have a 2016 Denali and its the biggest POS I have ever owned, its my 5th RV. It has so many stinking issues its not even funny. I plan on keeping it for now and just fixing crap as it comes at this point. My biggest kitchen slide has a broken support beam in the wall and when I pull the slide in the wall bulges out at the floor about 6 inches up from the floor and there is a large gap I can see outside. I try not to drive in the rain as water will get in, when fully open it straightens out. My bedroom slide leaks when open and when closed and I can not figure it out so I just keep a towel on the floor in the bathroom to catch the water and I keep the unit stored under a cover. The rear wall moves or the side walls move when you open and close the slides, not sure which but it pushes the corner moldings off and exposes the edges of the walls. I could go on and on.
@wildrvlife Жыл бұрын
Wow! We can really relate. Unfortunately. We definitely will not be buying another Dutchmen, or Thor, RV. There are just so many things that have gone wrong that are just clearly due to poor workmanship. And we have a problem with our bedroom slide leaking too! Fortunately, it only happens when it's in and we almost always have it out.. but if it rains on a drive day, we'll come in to a puddle underneath the corner of the slide by the bathroom.
