The S10 Gets Drag Racing Shocks! And We Start to Tune the Carb!

we are getting so close to test driving the s10! But first we still have a few things to do and putting shocks on the front is one of them. So, we got some cheap 3-way adjustable drag shocks, and they are complicated! Then we get started tuning the carb!

Ernest ordered a guitar tuner and from the size the shipping box was you would think it was gigantic. The tuner came in a box that was smaller than a deck of cards. About 2 1/2" wide 4" tall and about an inch thick. The box it came in was 10 1/2" long, 5 1/2" deep by 8" wide. Who packs these things?!? LOL

It may not have enough initial timing to burn off the extra fuel at idle with that cam and that much overlap. Sounds good though.

Can you set initial timing with the distributor locked out? First time having a locked distributor and a engine like this, we don’t know what we doing 🤣

@@EdsGarage99 I forgot that yall had it locked. It may just need more timing. It cranks over pretty easy for an engine with that much compression.

@@EdsGarage99 I have the timing locked out at 38 degrees on my squarebody, (cruiser) because it ran rich as hell at idle with a rolling thunder cam.

With a big cam I've had small blocks all the way to 40 to make them run right. And I remember them 3 way 90/10 shocks they actually do work pretty good until you need all the travel. 1 inch longer ball joints, longer brake lines and a bump steer kit, you'll be set for awhile.
