Class from Celtic supporters, they are the only British fans and supporters you have to admire, other than our own. Yes, Liverpool needs that European culture back too, and the old atmosphere of the Kop when it used to be all standing, especially for Premier League games. So make the entire Kop safe standing! It should make tickets cheaper like in Germany too, we can only hold our breath and wait. British regulation slows everything down...

The main reason a standing section works in Celtic park is because we have an ultras group which basically forced Celtic to look into safe standing.

If the English football authorities are going to accept safe-standing then the campaign has to start from the City of Liverpool for obvious reasons. Celtic done their homework before installing the standing section due to the sensitivity of the subject and the relationship they have with the fans of Liverpool FC. As you could see, the atmosphere is fantastic at every game, but more importantly, it is completely safe and actually safer than sitting for the bigger games in which people in that section would stand anyway. Good luck mate!

Totally agree with everything in this vid. The other thing I like about this kind of safe seating, with a little bit of tweaking, every level where you come out into the stand, could be made wider, to accommodate wheelchairs. So you could have a lot more people with mobility issues not only being able to see the match, but watching it with friends who could stand next to them, safely, which would not hurt the atmosphere, would it? I would love to see LFC take the lead in the premier league, bringing this in.

Too much of a controversial topic for the snobs. Even with all the appropriate safety measures in place. It was a miracle Celtic were even granted it at all. But it IS something that should be looked into with other clubs, particularly in stadiums that already generate a wonderful atmosphere.

atmosphere wise none English arenas are in Celtics league too many tourists in the bpl its become too commercial you would have to go to the lower leagues in England to find a real passionate support even then they still ain't on Celtics level very few teams are in Europe eastern European teams Turkish Greek Cypriot have the best supports

As a Millwall Terracite from 1962 to 1993 until our dreadful move to a ( comparitively ) silent, sanitised, soulless stadium I have to say Well Done, mon ami. Great Video and sentiments but hurry up in England as I am 64 and though very fit and walk 5 miles a day as a Dog-Walker I am fearful that the INEVITABILITY of a return for the option to resume standing will come too late.

J96. Lads... I've been in with the Green Brigade once... it was something else... If anything, safe standing is safer then the seats. The bars are high enough just to lean on and there's no way of accidentally going over... unlike the seating areas where I've seen a few lads go head over tits after loosing their footing. The heart of the EPL is eaten away by the billionaires. We get a lot of stick for our game in Scotland, but at least we still have our soul.

At the moment Liverpool don't your atmosphere is shit during league games all you do is sing ynwa and chant Liverpool a few times it's shit there's no point opaning a standing section if you don't have a group creating an atmosphere the whole game

Michael 67 We don’t use drums/loudspeakers in Anfield. Also the Kop is the only stand that sings in Anfield so I’d imagine the ultra’s group your talking about would include us. But I can’t see the atmosphere in Anfield and around England improving until ticket prices drop and more young fans can get into the terraces

As a terracite since 1962, a mere 56 years ago I can't wait for the return of our beloved OPTION to stand ( admittedly "only" 90% would like to exercise this hypothetical option ). The atmosphere was fantastic. Put in "Liverpool F . C. The Kop Crowd" from 1964 for the 2 minute video to see an example. I grew up on the Millwall terraces at The OLD Den until their fateful move 25 years ago in '93 and it has never been remotely like it was.. Like-minded fans would stand together away from the tourists....

The irony is it was a supporters group from this same club that tried in vein to scupper Celtics plans for years, even labelling it disrespectful to the 96 and opposing it to the very end on safety grounds, I wonder if the same voices have the same attitude towards their own fans bringing it to Anfield, it would be very contrary and odd indeed if they didnt so therefore how on earth can sensible Liverpool fans like the guy who made this video even begin to think theres any chance of their club even considering it let alone doing it?

Richard Murray safe standing has existed for years in germany and german crowds are mental and there has been no issue. every stadium should have at least 1 safe standing stand, hillsborough was a freak accident caused by poor policing and we need to realise that it isn't going to happen again, and even without safe standing people still won't stop standing. so why not introduce the safe standing, it's had a nearly year long trial in glasgow now, safe standing is the future, you don't need the whole stadium to have it just 1 or 2 stands. even most Liverpool and sheffield Wednesday fans want safe standing. the only people that seem to disagree are the prawn sandwich eating people who sit down for 90 minutes and contribute nothing to an atmosphere
