I have g7 32", used it for half a year. I have no problems- no scan lines, no dead pixels, gsync just works! I may just be lucky but i love it.

I got this monitor for 2 days ago and it sucks, i used it for my ps5, the text looks so pixelated and when i play a game it has that god damn flickering, i didn't even have adaptive sync on, overall it is a big risk buying this monitor Edit: I forgot to mention how hard it is to adjust height on the stand and how much space the monitor takes on the desk. I am gonna return this monitor and get the gigabyte m28u or LG gp850 instead.

Thanks for the honest rant! I got this Monitor and the picture is really good. Fortunately, I don't have any of the bad issues like scan lines. BUT, here is a few things that annoys me about it: - The display+mount is reeeeeally big and takes up a lot of space on your desk (haven't checked out any alternative mounts). - The power consumption is enormous (huge power adapter too). - The display takes a very long time to power on, having a real impact on my boot time. It doesn't matter if the monitor was on stand by or completely shut off, it's just very slow to be ready to use. - The Power LED blinks on standby, meaning you have to manually shut the monitor down to avoid blinking. Just a QOL thing, but shutting it down takes 3 button pushes instead of 1, so I usually keep it in standby. In order for the power LED to be off, while the monitor is shut down, you first have to find a setting in the menu. Otherwise it would stay ON, while the monitor is OFF, which is objectively counterintuitive and inconvenient and I have no idea, why Samsung designed it that way. Since I often have guests over, who would sleep in the same room as the PC, this annoyed me very much. - Another thing that goes with curved monitors in general, but with this one in particular, because it's so big on your desk: It's difficult to find a nice desk setup with a second (non-curved) monitor. I would like to have another monitor to improve work flow and also to use it for background information while gaming. But I can't find a nice setup that works. Obviously this is a problem that I could have avoided by just not buying a curved monitor, but I didn't think about that beforehand. Well, to finish, I would like to point out the amazing picture quality of the monitor again: I chose the monitor over the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ. because it had the slightly better colors in my opinion. I tested both on different games, and the G7 just got me more immersed in each of them. It was still a difficult decision, because both had very good quality and the g7 was much more expensive. In retrospect, I wish I would have chosen the ASUS, just for the ergonomic aspects (less waste of space). Just to add a minor thing: I had a minor, self-caused technical installation-issue with the g7 (a plastic pin broke), which the Samsung service staff was very accomodating about.

Ive got one too. Best monitor i''ve had. 1440p - 240hz with Gsync and Freesync isnt that common still. Mind you, its a 3 year old monitor. VA panel with superior blacks compared to recent IPS monitor's No usual VA issues HDR 600 - its better than most IPS monitors on the market. Yes the local dimming isnt that great but in game, it works extremely well. Id pick this monitor any day over the recommended 1440p IPS's ton rtings.

mine recently died after 3 years of owning it. ngl thats very dissapointing for a 540€ monitor at the time. it started showing the blacklights all over the screen in sections when i launched certain games or changed the Hertz of the monitor. just to be sure tested with 2 pc's and 2 different cables. also had a lot of issues with it going dark for 4 seconds just to come back and tell me displayport 1 was connected again... i love samsung but man this screen sucked for me

Yea scanlines - like my old "144 hz" monitor, that can randomly display "tearing" or "scanline" artifacts. I deduced that it does this when the image to be displayed has a lot of irregularities. Like if I'm looking at the ground in a game, and the ground is just lots of pebbles and stones filling the screen, then the monitor image could start behaving erratically. I solved it by setting my refresh rate to 120Hz instead of 144Hz, then it went away.

I've had my g7 for a year now, scanlines rarely show up when viewing certain media. The worst thing by far for me, is the horrible burn in this monitor suffers from, something I haven't had to worry about with an LCD since 2011.
@Spr1ggan87 Жыл бұрын
Mine went to complete shit after the warranty ended, developed a hot pixel then the HDR broke so even in HDR mode it can only reach a peak brightness of 300 nits. It's just a dogshit product, even my 200 quid LG IPS has better image quality and colours.

Totally agree , had my G7 for 4 days with scan lines and horrible picture . In the middle of sending it back . Went back to my £280 144hz ASUs until I get a Alienware . Much better quality . Stay away from this monitor guys

Burn in? Are you just blabbering trash because the G7 is not an OLED. How did you get it to burn-in?
@IIToxicz Жыл бұрын
If you turn off G Sync it will fix the flicker

No I returned it. Had a burn in for sure only fix was to turn off and back on. Fluctuating brightness, dead pixels, flickering black screening you name it, it had it. And when I say I tried everything I mean EVERYTHING. I wanted to monitor so I did whatever I could to line it out
