Pulling forward forces sand up into the intake by way of it's design..If you do then it's worth while when back in deep water to push/pull the ski to dislodge debris before start up..Pulling it backwards is my advise

Been jet skiing for 40 years; You're wrong about pulling it from the bow. The stem is the heaviest part, AND the lowest part. Everyone should be lifting and pulling the ski from the back. The now will slide easily in the sand; the stem won't.
