Incredible built Pinzgauer rig. But more importantly, what an incredible human being Branden is. The world needs more caring people like Branden, that make a big difference in our lives when we know them.

Thanks Spenser.. we're all just doing the best we can to be part of the communities we live in. I was fortunate to have eGarage take an interest and make such an awesome video :-)

SARpinz oh you're such a humble individual with kind words, the world is fortunate to have you in it and lucky to hear you share your story. Egarage is even in your debt for content. May you have unending success and happiness and may your Pinz never break down. Thank you personally for inspiring another total stranger.

two things struck me about this wonderful little film (apart from the legendary pinz, of course). the first was when you spoke of your own vulnerability as a child in a confusing, insecure environment and how much it meant to you to be safe and, as a result, to be able to bring safety to others. the second was when the film flipped to the city and you said that about 40% of S&R takes place in urban situations. something went click in me and i thought: "this guy, his character, his machine, his attitude, his work is the stuff of great tv!" there is a tv series in you and what you do. call it S&R (maybe it already exists on US tv. i wouldn't know, i'm a brit), but a set of standalone episodes with some common threads running through them is what i imagine. lots of excitement, but also lots of empathy, sympathy, tragedy and joy all mixed up. but what do you think?

Thanks Hugh. I appreciate your kind words.. It's an incredible little rig and I am humbled to be part of the community that responds to those in distress. They are some of the kindest people on the planet and it's very rewarding at the end of each mission. In our county last year we took part in 172 missions. Volunteers donated 68,165 hours and drove 431,908 miles in personal vehicles. All gear and fuel was paid for by volunteers. It's a staggering level of generosity and I'm blown away each year when I look at the stats. This marks the 10th year for me and I can't imagine stopping..

Thanks Justin, it's been a great rig and far more useful for Search & Rescue than my 4dr Wrangler was.. hard to beat the capacity in that small of a foot print, its extreme off road capability is just a bonus ;-)

Awesome to see and know more about you/your Pinz. How fast can she comfortably cruise on the freeway? I’m seriously contemplating on getting one and doing an RV buildout on it. Preferably the hard shell or even 6x6. You say it’s easy to work on yes? I’d imagine there’s lots of space to get your hands into things. Does the service manual show you a lot?
@ErikDJ1235 жыл бұрын
They are comfortable at 50-55mph as long as the road is flat or mild incline. You can go faster, maybe 65mph ... but portal hubs get so loud you and maybe the hubs will suffer. If you want a freeway vehicle, get something else. If you want something that can go as fast offroad as it does onroad... then pinz is a good option. I have 710K you can see in tfl truck video.

Wow Great looking 710. Wish mine looked that good. Have you changed to motor or just the exhaust? It sounds so different. Cool video, perfect S&R vehicle.
@SARpinz3 жыл бұрын
Mine had a bore and cam done by Goatwerks in Ca (not sure if he's still doing them) and has a custom built aftermarket fuel injection system. The exhaust came from Swiss Army Vehicles and is a stock replacement. I love the way the little inline 4 sounds.. so much fun to drive.
