My mum last year bless her thought she’d get me a Chelsea shirt and despite me telling her to just go to the website she instead found someone charging almost double for a match day shirt that of course wasn’t what it said it was, the second I saw it I felt horrible for her so I just straight up said it’s not real and we went on the track to get her money back 😂 which she did in the end but still it’s not hard to get scammed if your not educated on what your buying

You could honestly make an iceberg chart for football shirts regarding scandals and frauds due to the matchworn space, fake shirts, price inflation etc. Some good advice for people wanting to avoid fake shirts is very simple, avoid websites that have shirts in every size for around £30, shirts are not expensive as people make them out to be and you can often get current season shirts for under half price, in regards to older shirts you can get them pretty cheap sometimes too, for example I got Leeds 94-95 home shirt for less than what this seasons home shirt retailed at. PS in regards to my favourite shirt I don't really have one, of the ones I own maybe the Leeds 90-91 home, Inter 97-98 or Roma 99-00 but I know there are plenty of other brilliant shirts out there.

You said the one thing I always think about these, there is no way you can guarantee that shirt was match worn unless you get handed it personally. Most of the time its all just "a friend of an uncles grounds man who knows a driver said they wore this shirt". As for the mystery boxes its just futpacks IRL.

I got scammed by my own football club selling a match worn vardy shirt for poppy legion. The shirt worn in game had white font around the poppy and the shirt I received had black font. After a big back and fourth between myself and the club I was told “Jamie had took it home and you were sent a blood shirt by mistake, we will send the original out to you.” Low and behold the shirt I received later was so different to the one worn in game. His autograph had been signed on the centre of the shirt and the main sponsor had been printed on around it making it really slanted. There were so many differences all over and I had pointed this out to the club again and told them on the phone I want a written and signed letter from the club stating this is match worn by vardy from the game and let’s say they did not want to do that and didn’t hesitate to refund my 2.5k this time. Just goes to show you really have to be wary of even the most credible people. If you are ever interested in seeing the photos I’d be happy to show you

Matchworn shirts are not really my cup of tea (due to pricing if found in the wild, limited sizes, etc.) but I can say that I own a handful. One of them-ish is a Costa Rica 2002 World Cup away shirt that came straight from the player (and only one other owner afterwards) which I won't easily part with (if ever). The -ish part is because it never went past the match-issued part since Costa Rica never played with the away kit on that World Cup and is more likely one of the spares said player kept, which makes it rarer I believe...?

That Germany one is fantastic, I have one but in green. Bought it way back in 1994 from a sports shop in Ashford called G-Day Sports. I have a few match worn shirts from "obscure" national teams, and am confident they're authentic, since they are that of San Marino and Estonia and not many of those are made for sale to the general public. Definitely on the look out for scam fakes tho 👍

I don't own any real shirts, I own the fake ones It's quite popular from where I live, so much so it's actually considered a BAD value when buying a real shirt in where I live It's not like I'm bothered, I'm fine with it the quality is ok and the price is certainly AMAZING I spent 7 dollars on a 21/22 real Madrid full away kit That's in American dollars, I live in oman so it is 3 omani rials Again it's fake so it's not amazing But there's no shame in selling a fake shirt in my opinion, the real shame however is telling people it's real and selling it for an unbelievable price Selling a fake at a reasonable price is ok in my opinion

Great video again. It’s unreal the amount of shirts people list as match worn with no proof at all. I’ve just recently started selling match worn shirts and the only way I can feel comfortable selling them is if I have perfect photo matches of distinct grass stains/marks on them.

I picked up a Wigan "match worn" shirt from an FA Cup game this week, researched the season used and found it was used in one game where the player got around 15 mins as a late sub, paid around £40 so it was worth the gamble as it looks pristine

@@Vizeh But the trouble with that is that the term ‘replica’ is often used when clubs or brands market their Genuine shirts, you normally get ‘replica’ shirts and then ‘player issue’ , so still the term replica doesn’t exactly scream not legit or fake. You have some viewers I imagine who are young and impressionable , so you’re marketing shirts from this current season for only 20 quid or whatever it was, kids are gonna believe they’re genuine. Hell, even older people who aren’t familiar with shirts might also think that. You should at least say ‘these shirts aren’t actually genuine from the club, they’re remakes’ or something along those lines. I also don’t want to bore you with how bad fake shirts are - in terms of quality, production conditions etc , Ik the top brands have awful production conditions in their factories , so imagine how terrible fake shirt factories are going to be. Ellis from AwayDays has a video on fake shirts, maybe multiple I believe, so I’d reccomend you give that a watch. Anyway, I’m enjoying the content and you’re making some great videos, but that just will never sit right with me. Cheers.

@@Vizeh I respect the reply. They aren't even replica shirts. My gf went to buy me a shirt for my birthday and obviously didn't want her spending full price so showed her the website. Tried to buy from the website and it wouldnt let her. She started receiving strange text messages from the website. People have had similar experiences. I get they sponsored you but maybe do a bit of research next time a company sponsors you.
