Well if you did this now just try close your eyes for a bit and imagine the up-hill race back in the 80' the climb was on gravel dirt and if would rain it would be mud mixed with frozen snow to the top it was a slippery slush like ice even more crazy.. if are not deleted i could find the old clips and repost here for you (and others) just to give an idea how bad it was back then.. ;0)

Driving fast in rain, slush, and snow is natural for many Norwegians. Notice that he crashed only when it was on a clear road, in good weather conditions. Gratulerer.

There were a couple of Butt Pucker moments in there! A bit of understeer on the way up! With CG moved back a few inches, aero mostly in the back, and rained roads will make for some interesting hairpins! Great job though! I just drove my BRZ rebuild to the top a few weeks ago! Hopefully one day I can bring her back for an event. Again, good job man, what a dream!

Tip to change your visor i know if you change your visor the bolds always screw up if you do it with a screwdriver but what i always do is get a coin that fits perfectly instead of an screwdriver
@yolandalindsay836811 ай бұрын
Before you crashed you dropped three gears BUT the vehicle did not decelerate accordingly AND the RPM kept falling. This is diametrically opposite to what you want your vehicle engine to do when you down shift on approaching a turn. When we up-shift our engine RPM falls accordingly AND when we down-shift our engine RPM increases to match the car's speed, unless the clutch is not reengaged immediately or something breaks in the drive line. Nerves and tunnel vision can also bring about this level of driving paralyisis in decisive "now or never" moments.

He went in too hot and locked up the fronts. You can see it in the second perspective.
@noeleenbatchelor37365 жыл бұрын
He said “I should have pulled the clutch in and let it rev” that means the throttle stuck or something similar, resulting in the car trying to accelerate after he let off the throttle and was trying to slow down. The car was trying to accelerate after he lifted so he was coming in too hot, and because the car was still trying to accelerate putting the weight on the rear wheels, the front wheels had no weight on them which caused it to understeer so badly.

That clutch excuse was a bit lame. Can't slow down a kart-car with the wheels turned. It's counter-intuitive, but in this case, you have to ease off the brakes a bit, straighten the wheel and re-brake. That was just panic under locked-up understeer. He's lucky he got pinned into that rail instead of flipping over it. That KZbin of the Subaru in the woods of Oregon was the perfect example.
@janeblogs3245 жыл бұрын
Listen to the clip, throttle is stuck, engine fully loading up. Locked fronts only, if rear had locked at least it would have stalled
@TheDwightMamba5 жыл бұрын
Must have missed that explanation. I have a friend that put his life's savings into a circle track car. A zip-tie held his throttle wide open into a turn and hit a wall.
@noeleenbatchelor37365 жыл бұрын
The Dwight Mamba “Clutch excuse was a bit lame” it wasn’t an excuse it’s a solution. The excuse is the throttle was stuck open. “ease off the brakes a bit, straighten the wheel and re-brake”, then hit the railing with double the speed. “Can’t slow down a kart-car with the wheels turned”. I think you mean “can’t slow down a kart-car when the throttle is stuck open”.
@TheDwightMamba5 жыл бұрын
@@noeleenbatchelor3736 you must have glanced over the part where I said I missed the part about the stuck throttle. Thanks for wasting your time.
