I always loved how Canary's strategy is to use her powers rarely cause she see them for what they are, a special tool, if she used them too often it would only be a matter of time before her enemies create a weakness, look at superman for example, uses his powers so often that once the kryptonite is brought out Superman goes from winning to losing really fast

Black Canary's problem with her power is that her power is so powerful that she inflict serious damage to anyone who is her target. (being allies or foes.) Not even Kryptoneans, Magic users, God figures can really tank her scream without taking damage. She also has a heavy control of her Canary Cry so she doesnt unleash by talking in high volume or scream. She tends to use against powerful enemies that she can't take down or at very least as last resort weapon. Superman actually has several weakness. Kryptonite is the famous one, but anyone that control over solar energy/radiation can also heavy damage him and Magic being the less known. Most Aliens usually have enough strength that harm Superman and due to his high senses anything that disrupt or harm them can damage him.

That is the charm of Black Canary. She isnt exactly a superhuman powerhouse or pushing human limits with her skills. She is great what she does and she limits with what she can do. She can handle herself in JSA, JLA, JLI, BOP and even teaming up with several heroes, anti-heros and villains. She can be Solo Hero or Support cast.

Yes but in this she was using the canary cry for a solid 30 seconds basically until out of breath Birds of Prey was not nearly that long the enemies in birds of prey AR closer range so they would have been knocked out a lot quicker and they have no super human capabilities like a mandragora capabilities to withstand a canary cry in that range

Birds of Prey is an excellent movie and they did do her justice, keep in mind, Harley was the main character. Plus in the movie she was an excellent fighter and only used her voice when really necessary just like the animated black canary. In Arrow, I gotta admit its a good show and I love it but they did Laurel so dirty, she deserved more and they didn't do her justice in CW version, still she was my second favorite character.

From what I can remember Mandragora was a metahuman I know when Canary punched him in the episode she thought she broke her hand but I could be wrong. With Vixen, I think it is cause Huntress punched her in the throat in their earlier fight so needed some recovery time

Black Canary was SUUPPER underrated. She was considered the best hand-to-hand fighter among all the female metahumans. Even can hold her own against most of the men. I'm a little disappointed that her debut in the Harley Quinn movie showed using her voice blast only once. Huge letdown. That's her main power and she literally uses it ONCE. Oh well... at least they portrayed her fighting skills.
