Honestly Prodigy have many great molds , and the looks and feel on their newer stuff is good. Most haters have never thrown a Prodigy disc.

A couple years ago I moved close to the warehouse, having hardly ever touched a Prodigy disc before that. I tried to support the local brand initially, but the substantial inconsistencies were too much for me. That all changed recently. They opened their warehouse to the public and I could actually get my hands on the discs. The newer feel to the 400 plastic was awesome. I have since learned how much they are putting into the needed quality control and are moving everything to Dalton, as opposed to China. I finally switched most of my bag to Prodigy and love it. Excited about the future.

I live near the Canadian warehouse and going and trying stuff in person is a huge advantage. Also no shipping fees 👍👍

Prodigy was the first company I was introduced to when I started. Once I started obsessing over disc golf I found all this prodigy hate online and started branching out. Every company I tried had all the same problems. Inconsistent moulds, and flashing. After 4 years of trying everything I could get my hands on I’m 2/3 prodigy in my bag.

400 Glow A5 was one of my fave 2024 releases. Cale got us in MN throwing Prodigy the last decade. I gotta try the 400 ultra soft for MN winter

I had two BP-V3 bags with defects, that they only honored the warranty for the first on, and then flashing under every driver I ordered, and radical inconsistency in their minds... I recently went to PA-3 in 300 soft for putting after a friend convinced me to give them a spin, but it would be hard to convince me to shift my bag around for prodigy without it being gifts 😂

I throw new 400 A5s for the 0/2 approach slot and a very beaten in 300 A5 for the 0/0 approach slot. Those things are like lasers. I prefer them over putters for approaches because they need less height and are a bit more stable in the wind.

One of the big problems is that all of the disks that had bad flashing (2020 era), are still sitting in the stores. Prodigy, if they afford it, needs to buy back those disks with sharp flashing and turn them into reblends.
@devlin766 күн бұрын
This is it! The discs they are putting out now all seem to be great. But there is still poor quality Prodigy floating around in the market that makes it hard for people to believe that it was "in the past".

I just don't want to have to look as hard for the good runs - I have a 400 D3 made in the USA and a 500 D3 "designed" in the USA and they could not be more different. I also one of the discs I've bagged for the longest amount of time is a 400 M4. I picked up a 500 M4 Cale signature series and again, they couldn't be more different. I agree that there isn't a manufacturer that is super consistent, but I see the most variance in Prodigy runs. My bag is pretty much settled at the moment, so in terms of confidence "restoration" I'm going to have to put my hands on some plastic that compels me to throw it versus the stuff I know and love right now.

@KPrime3118 күн бұрын
They've BEEN good, they had a run of bad plastic for about 5 months a few years ago, and people are just hating on them since. So what did they do to lose your trust exactly? There are bad runs from every company out there, so what's the difference here?
