I am a weekend warrior, nothing professional. Recently I have tried my first rinseless experience and changes some steps to make it enjoyable. (I get both worlds, snowfoam satisfaction and the safety from rinseless.) I start by using pressure washer, foam cannon and all the brushes for the wheels. Then I snowfoam the whole car and use detailing brushes for all the cracks and gaps. (I felt extra safe and also don’t wanna waste all the money that I have spent on the gear lol) Then I rinse the snowfoam off, and use the pump sprayer to apply rinseless solution. Follow by contact washing the vehicle with ultra black sponge and 1 bucket method. However I will rinse the car off one more time as my OCD kicks in when seeing some dirt remaining on the paint. Then I dry the whole vehicle with an ego blower. (My vehicle is graphene coated, that’s why I don’t apply any additional protection as I also want to test out the real world durability.) At the end finish it off with tyre shine. Side benefit, I found that with the rinseless solution, I don’t have to deal with suds all over my hand, and I don’t have to wash 2 buckets with suds. Also I don’t have to wash muliple mitts and dry towel/ microfibre towel after the wash.

I'm an old-school detailer that still does 3 step-buffing procedures and whatnot. that's what I learned and that's what I feel most comfortable with to this day. in my defense, though I haven't tried any of the newer tech that's out for detailing other than ceramic coatings. hell I still use a Makita 9227C buffer and a heavy white wool pad for everything from compound to final polish. Lol. I used to be a guy who hated trying to buff out a vehicle right after leaving wash bay because I was always fighting against water dripping from everywhere. I learned years ago that if you walk around with an air line and blow out all cracks, seams, and all panels as you're drying off a vehicle you don't get all those drips coming out as your buffing. One question I have, do you use your Gold Standard Polish as a compound with wool pads (for heavier scratches and whatnot) and also use it as a glaze with the foam as a swirl remover/final polish? don't do detailing anymore except on the side for friends and family but would be nice to start cutting out some steps especially if I'll end up with similar and/or better results.
@diydetailofficial Жыл бұрын
Yep! It's pad dependent, so you can get heavy cut with a rotary and wool, and it finishes down very nicely with a foam pad

I used it yesterday for the first time washing my camaro. I tagged you in Instagram of it. I pre treat the car with the rinseless with every brand I use. When I went to clean the wheels. I pre treated it with the DIY rinseless before I foamed the wheels to give them an actual wash with the pump sprayer. I had a black puddle on the floor as it was pulling down all the brake dust on the wheels. Yes the wheels are coated but it still pulled alot of the dirt off the wheels and onto the floor where it made it much safer. If you add gallons I will be in for one of those.

If you want to see rinseless really do its thing, wash your side x side with it after a run in the desert . We winter in AZ, and I just started with the rinseless this year and all I can say is WOW!! We wash in full sun (unfortunately) and the lack of water spotting and the way it lifts the dust off is incredible. I use it to wash my fifth wheel and truck which saves me a bunch of money compared to hiring a wash service to do the fifth wheel and taking the truck to a car wash. I think you need to pitch it to the RV community a lot harder as it certainly is the way to wash these big rigs without water spotting. The combination of rinseless and ceramic gloss make it an enjoyable task that I now look forward to instead of dreading it.

I'm a bit nerdy about this detailing-thing (aren't we all?😊) I tried Absolute from P&S on a typically winter-muddy-car here in Norway. It was covered with road salt and other funny stuff. I was pretty amazed over how well the pre-soak worked. The dirt was "gliding" around the surface and came so easily off with a pressure washer. I read from the comments that DIY-detail rinseless maybe is even more powerful? If that's the case, I think it's awesome!! So two questions: Any chance your products will be available in Norway? Are there any specific type of dirt/grime that a rinseless pre-soak won't break down as efficient as an alkaline pre-foam (which is the most typical winter wash process here in Norway, and Sweden for that matter)?

Hi Yvan/Nick, First of all, I love your rinseless wash product. If the rinseless/water mixture that was used to clean a car did not become too dirty, is it possible to keep this mixture to clean another car, even if that next car is not going to be cleaned until a few days later? I realize I can separately purchase the graphen spray currently but hoping to make my life easier. Thank you. Eric

I rinseless wash 90% of the time. My biggest frustration though is how to handle a vehicle that has- say a gloss black honeycomb grille, diffuser etc...I guess that's where degreasers/apc come in and would add time/steps to the process. A video on this with a car that has a lot of complexities and nuances would be great.

Mayonnaise is basically eggs, mustard, either vinegar or lemon juice, and oil (with salt and some other seasonings). Hope you maybe look into adding something that will leave behind some protection, along the lines of Opticlean or McKee’s Graphene Rinseless Wash.

Very interesting, and it makes me want even more details. I'm terrible at chemistry, but I'm very interested in how products are created and how/why certain aspects are chosen for a particular product. I don't care about formulas, ingredients or any trade secrets...but I would love to learn more about how products are created. A few years ago Matt Moreman did a video with Bob Phillips from P&S, and it was fascinating. I'd love to learn more about your process (at least what you can share publicly). I've tried virtually every rinseless on the market, and ONR has always been the gold standard for my needs. P&S Absolute has now earned a permanent spot in my cabinet alongside ONR...and thanks to this video I will definitely be picking up DIY RInseless Wash as well to see how it compares. I'm 99% rinseless in my processes, but I still use my pressure washer whenever possible. The idea of foaming on DIY Rinseless before pressure washing is very intriguing. I appreciate that you guys don't bash other brands, or say that your "Product X" is better than another company's "Product Y". There is room at the table for everyone, and having more good choices shouldn't be a bad thing. The Rag Company guys had a great analogy recently about detailing products and donuts (sorry Yvan...I know you try to stay away from the sweets). There are tons of different kinds of donuts, and all of them are great (because they are donuts). Sometimes you want a glazed old fashioned, sometimes you want a maple bar, other days you may want a frosting filled Bismarck. Bottom line...I'm glad to have another great line of products to choose from. Keep up the great work guys. EDIT: Quick question, does your rinseless wash "soften" hard water (prevent it from etching the paint if it dries on the surface?). That is a problem that I had with mirror/trim drips after washing with N914.
@diydetailofficial2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, we will be diving deeper into product development in the future. Yes it does work to mitigate water spotting.

You will not regret buying DIY Rinseless Wash . It’s slick under the sponge, but doesn’t leave behind anything on the paint.

Nice technical discussion I like it. How does this work though? You hire a chemist and purchase raw materials from company xyz and formulate your own products? I'm asking because there are a million relabeled products out there, many using the same blenders.
@diydetailofficial2 жыл бұрын
Correct, we started by hiring a chemist ( he’s been in the industry 30 years as a contract chemist for many companies). Once our formulas decided upon we searched out chemical companies that had the competencies to make the formula in question. Yvan has been on the manufacturing side of the industry for over 30 years, so he has many contacts. Even the biggest companies in the industry do not mix all the products they sell, using specialty companies to make different formulas.

I am getting tired of all the pseudo-science surrounding these rinseless washes… It seems like no matter the properties of the rinseless wash you always manage to just alter your explanation so that it sounds good. - In one video soap is bad because the surfactants can stay on the paint like a film that attracts dirt and all RWs with surfactants are just “soaps”. In the next video you are promoting a RW with surfactants. - In one video the ability to draq dirt to the bottom of bucket is important, in the next it is not anymore. Yes, grains of sand has always gone to the bottom by itself. Its called gravity and that happens in a bucket of soap as well. - In one video no polymers are left behind on the vehicle. In the next polymers are left behind making the next wash easier.

@@diydetailofficialI agree with tafl. Ivan is good at marketing but he says contradicting things depending on what he’s pushing. From the various videos I’ve seen from Ivan, he can’t be trusted as reliable source for auto detailing. The only thing you can trust is that he’ll jump ship to whatever makes him more money. A recent example is when we says DIY rinseless is so powerful at the 256:1 ratio that it can clean a very dirty interior. But then says that a damp polishing bad with 256:1 has practically no impact. Can’t use the excuse that “technology evolves and gets better” here. He’s a pancake, flip-flopping as he sees fit.
