This is great! Using sane decisions or the right social thing to do helps us to not become legalistic or scrupulous.

I am so grateful for this information!! I get such a dopamine rush from planning anything. Not just meals. I get a rush off buying ingredients or supplies and never use them to make the desired dish or item! I’d rather buy yarn than crochet. I can’t paint, but give me the internet and Amazon and I could research out and fill a cart with “just the right things” to paint a masterpiece. Then never open the brushes. And of course food does it for me! Please tell me that fixing my dopamine receptors around food will help me actually enjoy the events I plan or make the items I get the supplies for. I didn’t realize just how big a gap I’ve got there until this video. Thank you again so much!!!

Susan Price Thompson is doing extraordinary work. I read her book and followed her plan faithfully for 220 days and lost 85 lbs. And the results were not only weight loss, but a better understanding of how my brain relates to food. I can't say that I don't still struggle but her insights have changed my outlook on food. It has been a real paradigm shift.

Okay so I just registered for Bright Line Eating boot camp and I’m totally overwhelmed with all the technology and I’m so excited that finally I hear truths about myself that I kept secret and didn’t even know anyone else thought like I thought, what I’m trying to say is that I am so happy for the possibility that I can be normal with food and not be an addict. I’m jumping in with both feet and the funny thing is I have no idea how to start so I’m listening to every word Susan is saying on her flogs and can’t wait to get started.

This is pure gold. I have heard/read about it before, but never in such a succinct form. I can testify that with sweets and snacks, the anticipation/imagining of the experience is greater and better than the real experience. With "real food", though, it's the opposite! I'm often shocked how wonderful simple meals can taste. This wasn't the norm when I was afraid of food. We need true information, and a little bit of discipline, not the usual scaremongering, nagging and punishment for just being a real person.

This exactly describes what I have been going thru for the past year. One minute I’m okay then I am going thru a package of rice cakes, slathered in peanut butter. Thank you Susan

This was such a powerful vlog - I kind of intuitively knew this, but it's sneaky, isn't it! Thank you, Susan.

This makes sense except for the idea that either broccoli or asparagus is “yummy” to some of us.

I'm overweight and I get that yummy reaction when I take a bit, not when I think about it and in pursuit of what I'm going to eat. Hmmm

Is it possible to change the brain to become a person who is satisfied with that one tummy bite of dessert and not want the rest?
