You are going to be okay, Trust me,. time will heal your wounds . I had the same experience back in 2020 .. I still can't figure out why we broke up.. she was my everything , the love of my life.. I was so miserable after the break up i even tried took my own life.. But slowly i started to recover... I'm not hundred percent recovered yet but at least now i'm not in any pain.. I still has her photographs stick on to my closet door, every time at look at those photos it reminds me of the perfect times we had in the past. Long distance relationships are tough. I just exited one not long ago and while I adored her when we were together in person, not being able to be around each other for a majority of the year eventually forced us to make a decision: stay in a relationship where neither of our needs were being met, or let each other go and be happy, even if it means not together. It’s very tough but at the end of the day I think it was the right decision to break up. Now whenever we get to see each other in person we are more excited than when we were in the relationship. The only feeling greater, apparently, is the feeling of being released from the burden of feelings by an initial liberation experience. Apparently the ego becomes so relieved that it doesn't have to exist anymore that the relief is incomparable. I've also wondered if maybe men and women's brain might be slightly differently on this? I truly don't know. But what I've noticed in a lot of women though, including myself, is that we can hate feeling that we are wasting our time. At least after my mid twenties I have very little tolerance to investing energy and time in a man who isn't sure about me or what he wants and needs too long to figure it out, specially when I feel so sure about my feelings and I know what I want. If I have things clear in my head but notice a man is taking too long to figure if he wants me or not in his life, no matter how much I want him, I know I have to let him go, and as painful as it has been, I have never regretted it. Ironically though, they have often returned after some time (weeks, months, even a couple years later) once they got to miss me. Unfortunately, it was always too late as I had already decided to move on. But this was something I never fully understood. So my point by saying this is, it is wise to not to rush things, however, I believe there must be a steady progress. Not a lot of grown women will be ok with a man who offers no progress after a certain time in a relationship, specially if she is already getting involved and attached and investing her energy into it.

Now I know that having memories and sharing moments with somebody else is better ... and I think that’s a fact. Sharing moments just feels better when you’re with somebody you trust and love. It's basically nature "tricking" animals, such as humans, to stick together long enough to breed for the sole purpose of creating more humans. It's chemical, much like a drug addiction. Love, however, is more so something that does not depend on sex, attraction and such, and is built over time through genuine care and respect. Love is what you give, not what you get in return. Love is not a feeling; love is an action, a choice, and that is why it is also a verb. Love is not relegated to just one or few persons and deprived from the rest, rather it's more of an approach that one takes through life and like an omni-directional source of heat it should radiate in all directions. It's a bit like comparing apples and oranges, yet I don't know why people confuse them. I blame it on the prevalence of romantic idealism in recent times. @@womaninthewave Yes, dopamine is the neurotransmitter of novel experience, like the psychedelic. We follow that feeling to expand our consciousness. We follow it toward wholeness, well-being. But instead of integrating the experiences that come with it, we hang on to just the feeling & only wish to repeat the novel introduction. This is why psychedelics themselves are so misunderstood: they are teachers, and they leave us with homework. So does love. But we want all the reward, all the time. It’s a very bad feeling when you realize that you are not someone’s happiness and love anymore. Remembering when they would take time to get your attention and make you feel validated and loved. Knowing that someone else is getting that attention and love from the one you called yours.

Is that really love? Did you only love them because of how they felt for you or did you love them for who they were as a person? Who cares if you're their happiness or not, as long as they are happy you should be happy because THAT Is love. I think if you really analyse it with care you will find out that you were in love with an idea, a fantasy, and you've convinced yourself the love was for the person you projected that fantasy onto. It may sound harsh but this realisation of attachment is the only way out, it's the only way to stop making the same mistake. Love is not ownership, I'm sorry but you was not in love, you turned a person into an object to project your fantasy of love onto, it was and still is an attatchment.

I still do.. she is a very sweet woman and it was wrong of me to not see her as a person but this object of affection. It makes me feel sick to know I was toxic in the relationship. @@montman821 You can label it as toxic but I think you'd be slowing down your growth, it may be hard to see but what happened was vital and it's a golden opportunity to level up. I think it's natural for the vast majority of people to go through that so called "mistake". The breadth of love is learned/discovered and everyone starts by observing others and usually coming up with the belonging to each other narrative and taking it as love, it's easy to take that narrative because that's what is seen on the surface. Many never even realise the "mistake" at all, the realisation makes you a better person and a better potential partner and the realisation can only happen if you've had the experience to act as your foundation, wisdom doesn't come via absence of experience. Don't beat yourself up about it, I've done exactly the same thing with multiple past partners, you can tell yourself you should have known better but the reality is you didn't know better at the time so you've gotta cut yourself some slack. I'm glad you understood, that shows you already know so I'm certain that is a good sign of good things to come for you. I wish you all the best ✌

I think when your mother says chose your partner wisely, when she prefers we chose someone from same religion and caste sounds outdated or orthodox. But science says less we compromise less we will have to struggle to sustain a happy long lasting relationship with our partners. Love works because two people can and will grow and work thru anything that crosses their path from disability to illness! When the relationship is test it will actually tell you what kind of person you’re with and we all need a warrior at that time because if you have a stroke or you get sick you don’t want your partner walking out. I was with the same person for 25 maybe 28 years actually! I waited 10 years to get married both of us and it still didn’t work out it has nothing to do with living with somebody and filling them out the problem is if you don’t use your common sense and there’s red flags with a person then you’re going to get screwed over and waste your time on a human being that don’t deserve your time. I found out there was cheating money I was married to pretty much a ConMan so cons can do really good at lying! The best thing is really get to know someone and keep your head in the game at all times do not allow your emotions to override red flags you may see or hear about someone pay close attention! My ex is still in my life!!!! He will not leave and was cheating with 3 of us and now living with one!!! He really has too much time on his hands! Some people are great pathological liars they have different bank accounts different mailboxes different phones just be careful there’s a lot of sick people out there! I will never marry again. Once was enough for me! I am not even dating. I’m so happy and planing an amazing retirement. 🤣😂🥂🥂 living my best life loving myself for once! The person that I love was a drug addict. 2 years clean. He passed away very recently. I once asked him if he was using me to replace his dopamine high and he said, "No!! ....maybe?" I've been feeling distraught since he passed away but this video has me relieved that at the very least he passed away before me in this lifetime because if it were the other way around he'd likely relapse to find a dopamine fill somewhere else. I just miss my person very much

My definition of love is philosophical. I worked it out to understand my own emotions. It is more than anything a moral position, that is best defined through its highest expression as an ideal type. In its purest and most exhaustive expression, I see love as composed of three elements: a decision, a value, and a control condition. So first, it is a conscious choice made without normative pressure, coercion, or motive and is re-chosen daily. Second, it is a value expression of self-sacrifice, where the value of another is put ahead of the self. Finally it has no conditional criteria, such as evaluative judgements, expectations or mandated reciprocation. So true love, i think, is a free agent continually choosing to value someone and their well-being ahead of one self, without rules or limits. The love of God or a parent would fit most intuitively. But i think the strength of this formulation is of individual as honourable heroic figure. It evokes actions of moral character, that are owned by the agent, who choose against their own interests or ego, is non-judgemental, non-possessive, nurturing and protective. This is contrary of the passionate idea of love, but also to the romantic. From this view someone loves you, if they take a bullet to save your life. Or, if they tell you the truth when your false self surrounded with adoration and status. And it might be a partner wanting you to be happy even if that is with someone else, or letting go if they can see you are better off alone. Yes, I see moral hazard and balanced people will temper love with self-respect. Other conditions like self-preservation and ethical action are also important since they might be lost to nihilism in absolute love. And yes, love is individual and can be one-way, but two individuals who reciprocally feel love for each other is surely fantastic.

I would like to recommend the triangular theory of love. Your thesis sounds like the companionate love. That kind of love is more intellectual/cerebral compared to passionate (romantic) love which is sensual chemical based.

very nice. took me a little to grasp cause everyone has their own philosophical style but enjoyed your conception of love. i would like to add a little twist, though. What if love is an undeniable facet of existence? To exist is to love. No matter what you do or think or are, you love. From the everyday moment it's then possible to build our individual conception of love. It will have pressure, coercion, and motives as well as lots of judgement and self-preservation (as you allude to at the end). Love, then, becomes the mess it should be--the existence that can consume and devour, as well as enhance and enrich. Everyday existence can build to resonate with the ideal you describe or it can build into a different conception. This allows the lovers to be present. They can go into ethical and self/ego complications without fear or anxiety because the lost moral position is not what their love seeks to be. Such a position is what it CAN be. If love were to remain in such a position, existence would be consumed, which is not sustainable. Your cyclic propositions of non-conditionality, decision, and value fall apart at the everyday moment and at existence. The affirmation of such a love requires no existence (that's the ideal part of ideal love, haha). Hence, partners who receive no existential affirmation of their significant others' love are deeply confused (and why online dating is so bad lmao). That's why this video is top notch; our brains are wired to respond to particular conditions of existence that affirm love. And yes, (to your last sentence) any two individuals already feel love towards each other. [This doesn't mean they can't lie to each other or consume those feelings in anger, violence, or hate.] idk its fun to talk about all this. I think i was just trying to get away from your idea of a 'high' love or an 'ideal' love. You'll find that God is the most mundane lover of all and the most reassuring. What do we lose turning our mundane existence into God's love? Nothing because our mundane existence is our biggest reassurance :). [Now, why we feel the need to craft God and love is a whole nother topic lol]

@@steggyweggy I meant it as a mantra to build our own individual conceptions of love. We exist, so, we love. Both are the state of our existence. By starting at the most fundamental, we can get to the conception op says or any other conception in line with our existence and love. The best love will change and adapt and morph just like existence and life, and any moral position is just a "consumption" (or rationalization) of love/existence. Op's position is really good but it can't truly hold (just like they acknowledge in the post). The best people are those that can understand the core of their own existence and, hence, others'. Existence is constantly "consumed" and rationalized by emotion, habit, trauma, etc.. Good love doesn't look to position itself morally in any way--it just exists from existence. Dunno if that makes any sense lol.
